Car was just sold. Advertised at $16,000 and $16,500 (2 ads). How much higher was real value?

Autotrader & APP.COM. Seller had calls from all over. Sold to someone in Lakewood, NJ who said they were not going to use it much. Lakewood is a hot bed of used car dealers and wholesalers that work out of a closet. May see car for sale again.

Yeah, bet you it will show up on eBay in a week or so...with photos parked outside of one of those McMansions one particular seller likes to use in all his listings.

I gotta say, when I see that cat's ads, they always make the car appear nicer than it is.

2 3 0 0 miles? AMAZING! I would have loved to have seen that automobile. Well, it was probably, what- about $55,000 or more when new?
If it had been garaged and still like new, then I would say that $20,000 + would have been a good price! |

A 1987 420sel with 27,000 miles once brought $25,000 on ebay.
2300 miles is amazing! |

Agreed.
There was a local, heated garage kept, 1985 Buick Century Limited for sale locally with 25000 miles for $2500. It sold instantly. Interesting. Not to stray away from the topic @ hand, but here is a 1976 Caprice with 750 actual miles. MINT conditions: http://www.fullsizegm.com/1976_700milecaprice.html |

I'm still waiting for my dads friends, father to part with one of his 560SEL's. He bought a matching pair new, and they have been in his climate controlled airplane hanger since new. I am pretty sure one has not seen rain... I think one has about 15k miles and the other 30k.

Sounds impressive.
I would like to find (and be able to afford) a ultra low mile, like new 1984-85 500SEL, or even a 1981-83 380SEL. Quote:

It would be very enjoyable to have such a nice car. I'd have a custom car cover made, detail it to perfection with Griots products, and only take it out of the garage on nice sunny days.

On the other end of the spectrum, I have a 500sel with 490,000 miles on the odometer. Somebody swapped out the engine with a younger one thankfully. -CTH

When I see these ridiculously low mileage cars like this, I always wonder what the mechanical condition of a car that has just sat for that long would really be like.
What's your experience with very low mileage cars been?
