Eric,

It's been a while since I've heard from you!

I enjoyed looking at the pics you sent of your new '95 E320 wagon. I think I also remember seeing you post pics of the new rims you put on it.

How are you enjoying the car?

I'm actually kinda sorta in the market for a good, cheap 300TE / E320 wagon...

hey paul!

nice to hear from you. yes i love my wagon, TONS. she's been good to me so far with the exception of the smog pump which seized. it was a $1K fix. grr.

you should definitely give me a ring next time you are on the west side, you can drive it.

there is a nice looking wagon in San Diego the same color as your old E320. Clifton Mercedes is selling it for one of their customers and it has around 150K miles.if you are interested, you should talk to Ryan. i bet you could find a lower mileage one out there though.

cheers

Who did you have fix the smog pump?

The pumps cost around $1,000, but it's the bearing on the pulley that seizes. The dealer sells a rebuild kit for about $250. You remove the smog pump and replace the pulley and bearing and reassemble. It's about an hour labor.

The smog pump seized in my 1993 300E (3.2) "E320", and I had a local MB independent (MB Stars) do the rebuild kit.

i was in a bit of a bind as the car was undrivable so i had a local MB shop do it. they do good work, but were really weird and tried to get into a political debate with me. and then the guy started talking about the right to own firearms, so i left. Enrique said what they charged seemed fair.
