Possible trade for 300D turbo.
hey all, im considering the trade of my beloved 240D euro for a 300D turbo.
im not in a big rush. The car is a 1983 240D euro. It has roughly 253,000 on the clock. THe car is a sand beige with paint code 444. Very rare as i am told. I bought the car from i believe the third owner, the second owner however was his brother who bought the car with 50,000 miles on it and has a very detaild account of its recoreds in the record book that was provided. The car was originially bought in germany, driven around while the original family was on vacation. The car was then i beileive brought back to georgia, were the second owner purchased it. He kept it at his house in florida and then brought it over to his new house in texas. When i has a new exaust put in this summer, the people that put it on could not believe how clean the underside was. It is absolutly CLEAN!!! Infact the only sign of rust is on the passanger side front fender were their is only 2 or 3 small rust bubbles that have not come threw. and when i say small, i didnt even notice it untill i got close to it. other wise the car is rust free. It is sand beige with palmino MB-Tex. The interior is ok, im going to swap out the front seats from my 300D into the 240 Because the 240's have a couple rips in them, and the 300's dont. The car has 3 manual windows and 1 power window(ill explain why in the "not so good" things) it has a manual sunroof. IT IS A 4 SPEED MANUAL! from what i can tell all the glasss is original. So far i have put over 1800$ into it since i bought it in january. The blow buy is little to average, however it starts better than my 300D turbo! which has less miles now i guess the "not so good" first the reason that it only has one power window, which is the front passanger side window is because when the motor on the drivers side went out the PO (not being a DIYer) went to have it replaced, when they said 500$ to replace it, he said just put a manual crank in it, which i believe at the time was easier. All the power wires should still be there, and i was thinking of taking 1 motor out of the window in my 300 and puting it in there. second, when the PO moved from florida to texas he towed the car, the place he got the trailer from said it would be fine to tow with 2 wheels on the ground. he has no trouble getting it there, but when he got to his new house and drove it, 4th gear ground. he then found out when he towed it, he should of had the drive shaft disonected, and since he didnt, somthing on the car wasnt getting lubed, therefor the 4th gear grind. i just double clutch 4th gear and it works fine. It has been this way for 10+ years, and there has never been any metal shavings when the fluid has been changed, thereforei dont worrie about it. third, the car got kissed on the side this summer on the rear drivers door, it dose not look that dented, however you can kinda tell. Ive been on a hunt for a new door b/c i didnt feel like having that one undented for the $$ theyh charged. The door still functions properly however, door lock still works, as dose the window. Its really not bad at all, but thought i would mention it. for some reason the PO took the AC out, i still have the condenser. but i guess it was a dog even when it was working. thats about all i can tell you, everything funtions properly except the vacum powered head light adjustment, which i never cared to look into. It has no emmisions crap on it b/c its a euro. i would rate the exterior at an 8 out of 10 (just because of the door, and the 2 or 3 small bubbles) and the interior a 8 or 9 out of ten. the dash is cracked but has a dash mate on it. Right now it is sitting in my driveway with a car cover over it and is not being driven due to the fact of it being winter and i dont want the car in the salt at all, thats why im driving my winter car. Im looking for someone that is interested in trading for a 300D turbo in or around the same condition, and same amount of milage. like i said im in no big rush but seeing what peoples willingness is ill post som pics, but if u wanta see more, view my gallary here thanks!! ohh also i included an old pic, but i took the paint off some hubcaps and polished them to be crome.. THANKS also just wanta say that when i took it to my mechanic, he was so happy because he has never seen a car that old not drip ANY oil over night. I never add oil between changes and it dose not leak any fluids

Yes, but its a real clunker, it is very rusty, the passanger rear door has a hole threw it b/c of the rust, the rear fender edge, half of it is gone due to the rust, and i just noticed today that the front drivers side fender is loose at the bottom b/c of rust. it was hit on the front right side and touched up horribly, and like my grandpa says "fill her up with oil and check the gas". the rear main seal i believe is gone and i have to add oil about 1 time a week, i dont mind b/c it is just my winter get around. I was actully gonna get a volvo for the winter, but this one pop'ed up on craigslist and i thought i would be nice to experiance the power of the 300. so yes i have a 300D turbo, but its just my winter beater with a heater. and b/c of the cancer im not going to even attempt to fix it up. and my 240 is really nice and was maybe even going to sell both in the summer to get a nice 300D turbo and stillhave some cash left over. But was seeing if anyone wanted to trade for it.
