70s mercedes 280

My mechanic has this tan 280 he wants to sell. Its been sitting for 3 yrs but it has a clean title. He dosen't know if it runs but he said it ran fine when he parked it. It is an automatic. Red interior that is MINT. I don't know how much interior from these cars sell for but im sure its worth something. He wants $600ish. Couple of crappy pictures.

Unless he knows nothing about mercedes, there is no reason for a mechanic to sell a car he mearly "thinks" might run. I have this same problem with a friend who has a 6.9. He's a ford mechanic, so he won't touch the thing. That I can respect, though I do want to kick him for being stubborn about it.

After 3 years, he probably has lots of bad gas, may need a carb rebuild and rubber is getting tired of sitting still in one spot. Still, suggest to him that he get a more firm estimate of condition. It could turn a 600$ car into a 1,000$ car or it might confirm that it's just a 200$ car. -CTH

I have a 76 300D automatic that needs a transmission. I am interested in a parts car but, ONLY if the transmission is good and a match for the one in my car. If so, respond or send a pm.
Thanks,
Vince
