'63 220SEb Coupe Euro
Hey all,
The wife tells me that I no longer have the time, $$$, or space for the coupe...so here it it for sale! 1963 Mercedes Benz 220SEb Coupe 2.2L Mechanically Fuel Injected 6 cyl. 4sp manual transmission Power Brakes (still drum in the rear) Power Steering Nice Driver! So here is the story... I bought this car one year ago from a surveyor who rescued it from a field in southern Colorado. The car is pretty but rusty underneath. I riveted some sheet metal into the floor pans, changed all the fluids, rehabbed the ignition system, cleaned it all up and drove it for 10k, including trips into the mountains to ski! In the course of driving it, I replaced the RF kingpin assy, clutch master, ignition coil, wires, points and have generally tried to get everything working, which it does except for the temp gauge (I have an underdash add-on for the moment). Recently, the car began to run on 5 cyl. after removing the plugs and finding the number 5 to be extremely fouled I suspect a possible head gasket, though the car still runs and drives amazingly well. Overall, I believe this car was a restoration project from the '80s as there were several new and refinished parts. The interior is in OK shape, including the all wood instrument binnacle. There are some unusual but I believe original bucket seats. This car would be perfect for a handy person looking for a driver that will be fun to own. I don't think it could ever be a show car. I am looking to get $2500. For questions or pictures, please email me at Mercybenz63@gmail.com Happy motoring, ~Kyle
