Beware: Scammers stealing from Mercedesshop

I was made aware today by another MS member of someone using pictures of my cars as vehicles they have for sale. I ran the VIN of the car and it came up belonging to the supposed "European" 300CD listing from a few days ago we all debated that has mysteriously disappeared from this site now.

So the VIN that I pulled off the picture of the VIN-plate is one of *your* cars? And the pictures that he posted were of your car, as well? I'm slightly confused. (Probably should still be sleeping.. maybe I'm just tired.) At any rate, theft of photos / false advertising is pretty low.

I love that russian MB-club VIN checker.

And here we see the big problem with crime in this country. Criminals aren't afraid to commit crimes, since the liklihood of getting caught is slim, and even if they *do* get caught, the punishment is usually a slap on the wrist. I'm convinced that if the punishments for crimes were ramped up, people would be a little less likely to do this sort of stuff. If identity theft was punishible by 2 years in jail before? Make it 25 years, no parole. As for bigger crimes such as rape and murder? Well, lets just say those people don't deserve to be alive, let alone walking the streets ever again.

Still, that's a topic for Open Discussion. Maybe I don't buy enough cars, but I never get any scammers emailing me (though I HAVE seen plenty on craigslist, etc).

This is the kind of crap that really sucks! I've had my Identity stolen and have been trying to clean things up for the last couple of years! We once had laws which were enforced but now, thanks to the idiot liberals, Liberalism has replaced common sense and courtesy!

Speaking of scammers do we have a blacklist thread for bad sellers? Perhaps a sticky idea? It doesn't look good being there but being ripped off is even worse.

What does politics have anything to do with this?

Wait...

I agree, politics has nothing to do with this topic and absolutely does nothing to help Johnhef with his situation. It might be helpful for a post to be submitted with contact or identifying info from the scammer, so that any future dealings by forum members with this seller/scammer can be searched and discovered to be a scam ahead of time.

The US of A has THE HIGHEST incarceration rate in the world already. The problem lies somewhere else.
