$54,000? I assume the $ is a typo and you mean the car has 54,000 miles on it.

$18,000 sounds about right - you might be able to find a someone who'll pay $20,000, but it could take awhile.

eBay

Not that I'm recommending it, but a car like that on eBay could go for as much as $23,500...

I've had good luck selling a car on EBAY. Might be worth a shot to see what kind of interest the ad generates.

What horror stories??? Wife's tired of the minivan and I thought an MB wagon might be a good car for her. So, what's the worry about diesel fuel?

biodiesel

Might try using biodiesel, which apparently solves the lubricity problem presented by the new ultra-low sulfur diesel. The Ever-Ready Oil Company in Albuquerque sells B20 (20% biodiesel, 80% regular diesel). I stopped there once on my way through town last summer. Nice folks!
