1985 300TD wagon for sale
Hey all,
My father asked me to get his car in circulation, as he's looking to get a W210 4 MATIC wagon, so the good old TD must go. Here are some details... 1985 M/Y, 904 Midnight Blue with Palomino MB-Tex, average to good condition inside and out with some rust starting to rear its head, mainly around the rear wheel arches (typical). The rockers and floors are excellent however. The paint is original and starting to show its age, however with a good buff and wax I'm sure it'll clean up quite nicely. The interior is clean, very little wear to the seats, basically confined to the center armrest, where the material has split here and there. Power windows all work fine, climate control works fine, A/C still has R-12 and is ice cold, we replaced the Becker with an Alpine CD deck a couple years back, power antenna recently replaced, all services done on time (3K oil changes, 15K valve adjustments and fuel filter changes, 30K tranny fluid/filter and air filter change, yearly brake fluid change using Teves DOT 4 fluid, bi-annual coolant changes using MB Anticorrosion type coolant). The car comes with two sets of tires; the summer set are nearly new Yokohama Avid TRZs and the winter set are also nearly new Firestone Winterforce snows. Currently, the snows are on the car. Recent work (within the last couple of months) includes the following: -New upper control arms -New tie rods -New ball joints -New drag link -New steering shock -Front end alignment done by Performance Alignment -NEW Ate front brake calipers -New front rotors, pads and sensors, wheel bearings re-packed -New rear rotors and pads -Brake fluid changed with German Teves DOT 4 type fluid The car starts and runs very well. Plenty of power and no oil consumption. The transmission shifts smoothly with no slipping whatsoever and with all of the recent work having been done to the suspension and brakes, it drives perfectly. At present, two things come to mind that need attention: The rear window wiper doesn't work (motor packed up) and the central locking has a leak somewhere. My folks live in Cleveland and I'm in Cincinnati so getting up there isn't always easy on my schedule, which is why those two items are not yet fixed, but dad decided to let the new owner deal with them, which was good for me, as we've been too busy for me to break away as of late. One other thing to mention was that dad had me upgrade the headlamps from the crummy US sealed beams to some German Hella E-code H4 lamps which make an impressive difference for night time driving. Mileage on the car at its last visit to my shop was around 278K. Price is $3,000 or best offer. e-mail me at: Benzpower@aol.com for more details/pics..
