FS: 1976 300D W115-Rust free!
OK, I gave it a good try. Now it is your turn.
This is a W115 300D which I bought a few months ago. It had had an engine swap (motor #1 lost its crank pulley/damper, ruining the crank nose) and motor #2 had symptoms of a bad head gasket (pressure buildup in cooling system). Thus it found its way to me. I pulled the head, checked the head and block for warpage or cracks, found none, did see a small "pinch" in the HG and figured this was it. Well, I was wrong. The problem persists. I don't think this engine can be made to work. The car is WORTH IT if you love 115s. It's a CA/AZ car with no perforation at all (I don't mean the exhaust system gleams. I do mean it has as clean an undercarriage as most 2003 MBs). Interior's great- Tobacco Brown, I believe it's called, MB Tex. Exterior is somewhere between Palomino and peanut butter. All chrome is intact and shiny. I drove it about a mile before commencing the engine work, the trans shifts beautifully. 3 of four power windows work. The Becker AM/FM and power antenna both work. I'll get pics up very soon. I've been thinking over whether or not to sell, the soul searching has led me to think that I can best enjoy Benzes one at a time, and my W126 300SD isn't quite where I want it to be. Not to exaggerate- but having inspected closely the pics of that two-tone 300D W115 that was recently on eBay- this one is easily as nice, and its color combo (and paint so far as I can tell) is original. Just add a good 617 and you'll have a fantastic W115. I'm in Phoenix, AZ, and can be reached at 602.478.0099- Rob

Sorry for any confusion on location. the car and I are both in Phoenix, AZ.
I'd be fine with $950 as regards price. It badly needs a wash as it's been sitting awhile, but here's a shot of the dash to give you an idea.

On Saturday, I'm going to bring it outside and give it a good wash.Numerous pics will be taken then. It has been sitting in my garage since Dec, and was parked outdoors (in AZ) for months prior to that. Very dusty. And my garage is so small that I can't really take a good pic without bringing it outside anyway.
Yes, it does run enough to load on a trailer.
