UPDATED INFORMATION

I road tested the car...it is not as slow as you'd think for a non turbo.
I replaced the engine for him a few years ago after a friend ran it out of oil.. Replacement engine was a 1981/2 or maybe 1985 motor.(.need to check engine number..) TD motor from an embassy in Japan with a claimed 80,000 miles on it.....so it has the hydraulic pump head.

Shifts good now the vac' is corrected.
Cruises at 70 mph and steers well.
Aftermarket radio.

...I just did the following:

Fuses .
Check charging.
Steering box adjust.
Oil/filter 15W40 Rotella.
(Drained cooler and filter housing.)
Valve adjust and check I/P and cam timing.
Test injectors= 125bar, all.
Viton fuel injectors spill hose.
6 exhaust hangers.
5 new Bosch glow plugs.
Valve cover gasket.
Correct vac' hose connections.
Repair vac' supply....engine not shutting off.
Adjust/lub' linkage.
Adjust and set vac for trans'.
Adjust modulator pressure.
Corrected wiring behind inst' panel.

Needs .......
Front lower ball joint drivers side...not worn, but missing grease boot.
Rear brake hoses....covering cracked near calipers.
3 fuel tank hoses...weeping.
Air filter...(out of stock at time.)
L/R sway bar links.
Blower fan motor soon...blows fuse every now and then.
Passengers window motor.

Usual weeping oil leaks although not bad leaks.
Rides well and brakes straight.

DKV Euro.( Customers car..)

I think I'm correct saying that there is no structural rust anywhere.
This is an Oklahoma car...very little corrosion here.
Paint is goood to fair...just had hood repainted due to fade.
IIRC there's a small crease on the F/R fender from a gate post.

Condition is good, but a 25 year old car is not going to be perfect.

Call Mr Rountree....he'll answer any questions for you.
Located in zip code 73080.

If you wish I'll drop by and take a few pictures and post them on Putfile.
...but that won't be untill about 24th or so.

Don't forget...price is OBO.

Has he ever replaced the timing chain in this car? You replaced the motor, how about the transmission, is it in good shape? Im only about 3 hours away, it might be worth a Sat or Sunday afternoon drive to go look at it(although I was really wanting a 240D manual.)

New chain was rolled in before I installed the engine....as was front seal .
I checked the timing last service....it was spot on.

Transmission shifts fine....I reset the vacuum modulator and throttle bleed.
