Save the 83 300D from death!

I am offering my 1983 300D. $500 takes it or it goes to the scrap yard Wednesday morning. It is located in Murfreesboro, NC and can be delivered to the Northern VA area or tidewater area. Your welcome to pick it up at any of the locations. Immediate payment required.

If it doesn't sell, it will be beaten to death and filmed, then loaded with scrap iron and driven to the scrap yard.

The good: motor runs, transmission shifts and drives well. Five decent wheels, four tires.

The bad: interior wet, all glass broken by vandals(except front door glass, which is rolled down). Both bumpers broken off. Several dents/dings both small and somewhat large in the body. The front main oil seal is gone.. It blew out while I was going down the driveway and I immediately stopped the engine. I added two fresh gallons and started it to locate leak (entire engine bay was black, made it difficult) and it dumped most of the oil within 1 minute. It was only run for about 10 seconds without oil pressure.
Floorboards have been exposed to years of leaking water from the windshield.. significant rust thru the rocker panels by the oem jack holes.

If it doesn't sell, I'll post the video of the engine red lined until it blows for everyones enjoyment.

I'm hoping the car can help someone along on their project before I waste it for my own enjoyment.

somewhere around 300,000 miles. Car does monster burnouts. http://www.crazymatt.org/benz.wmv

why not make an art car out of it. they are all over houston and it looks like fun. chopping the top would be perfect for the summer. i would come get it if you were closer.

Why?!?!?!?!?

Dr_Bones3 02-19-2007 07:25 PM

That movie is great and sad all at the same time.

Those vandals must be pretty tough down there to be breaking off bumpers!

:)

If you watch the video, I think you'll see why the front main seal blew and the bumpers are shot.

Kind of a vague line between the acts of the vandals and your performance(s) in the video. (Sorry, had to give you a hard time)

Let's see that '03 VW TDI burnout!

Thats what I was thinking. That POOR car. I feel sorry for it. :( The people that crashed the windows were probably trying to put it out of its misery. ;)

At first, I thought it was my cousin in it that lives in Richmond... ;)

The engine did seem to sound good on that video.... was there another reason you decided to destroy it?

Hopefully you can find it a home, other than the scrap yards. :)

a forum member will put the wheels to good use. The rest of the car is gone.

Gone? As in smashed? (softly) gulp.
:(
