This seller became very offensive and when I asked about the overspray and touch -up paint and apparent problems with the rear-end of the car. I am withdrawing from the auction and wanted to warn anyone else to beware of the seller. To bad cause the car is not in bad shape but dealing with an horsesbutt trying to get simple details is not worth the hassle that are likely to occur over real issues during the transaction. FAIR WARNING

ALSO Several Negative Feedback:
by rabntn: 7 mos later- car was MISREPRESENTED; was wrecked & not disclosed..BE CAREFUL!!!
Another said their motor blew up on the way home, and so on...

Buyer beware!

Hey Bama -- what was the seller's response to your inquiry, if I may ask?

I can't get to the auction link, or the seller's ID on ebay.

Maybe he was a scammer and ebay pulled the plug on him?

I saw that auction on Friday - loved the color of the car and although I didn't scrutinize the pictures, it looked beautiful.

Thanks for the warning.

"I am sorry but you sound extremely anal and far too picky for me to even consider doing business with. I guess you missed the part that this car is 24 years old and may have some imperfections none of which would deter any serious 123 Diesel buyer from this car and paying top dollar for it but I can see you are looking for perfection, so continue your quest elsewhere. This car is one of the finest you would ever find of this age and it is exactly as I have disclosed it to be and I am sure you need to go buy a new vehicle that is perfect since you are having a hard time with this one. Hardly any eBay seller show as much as I do and most of them leave their cars filthy, dirty and dusty. I like my cars as spotless as I can get them so my clients get far more for their dollar than anywhere else. You know, a Hyundai base entry model will cost you more than what I am probably going to get for this car, and I am sure you would find that car new without any flaw whatsoever. Or better yet go find another car on the internet that is filtly, has twice the mileage and has spent most of it life in a wet climate instead of the desert so you will know for sure that there are issues unlike this car that has none."

So this was my reply...

"Quite frankly I am surprized at your negative attitude. I simply was asking for carification on the apparent existing condition of the automobile that you are representing as original condition.
I have been collecting these autos for over thirty years and when I see something that does not exactly coincide with the picture or the advertised language I expect a respectful answer to the inquiry. Your response alone indicates your character is dubious and one to be suspect.
If you are not mature enough to follow-thru then I'll gladly write you and your firm off as unreliable, untrustworthy, and unprofessional.
No, I will not be bidding and will make certain that my community of Mercedes Benz enthusiasts are aware of your juvenile, unprofessional, and altogether disingenious character. That means less than geniuine...Buyer Beware."

So he continued by sending this...

Like I said, Anal. If you are a true Mercedes Benz Enthusiast you should know better about what you are looking at. I have personally owned over 40 various MBZs and this one is one of the finest. With presentations like mine most serious minded BUYERS can make real assessments of the condition without insinuating such negative accusations as you did with your comments about water damage that is non-existent and the fact that the undercarriage is as clean that, that is a problem. My goodness, I think what it is, is that you just do not recognize an incredible car when you see one and your disbelief that the car could be as nice as it is, is apparent. Our sales history and our feedback are proof of that. If you were to show any reasonable MBZ enthusiast these pictures you would find out that you are trying to dig into something that really does not exist. As far as what you call my negative attitude, well, I guess you would really need to be on my end when you find so many nit pickers on eBay that quite frankly are what I call Unsolicited eBay Editors trying to see just how good they are at busting great seller’s balls. I quite frankly get tied of it. My eBay buyers, and let me emphasize BUYERS, tell it all in my feedback. Not once have I ever missed a sale because I didn’t cower to some nit picker on a fabulous car. If I had a piece of crap car on eBay with a blurred picture presentation and two sentences about it and no $1000 dollar Mercedes Benz dealership full-on inspection to back it up, then you might have a substantiated gripe. But I show ever inch of the car, there is no water damage whatsoever, and a perfectly detailed undercarriage to find any leaks that none became present on, a 120 point MBZ dealer inspection filled out and signed and a flawless interior except for the tray under the arm rest that I disclosed, not a single chip or minor scratch has received touch up on the car which also goes to show the pristine original 24 year old condition.

Well, by this time I'm fed up with this so I hope that I ended the thread withn this:

"Yes, your level of expertise and professionalism is very evident.
As far as I'm concerned this car makes 41 you have owned...I just wanted the questions answered beforehand. Thats what usually happens in a live sale.
And I did not insinuate water damage. I asked if the windshield seals had been replaced because the front carpeted floor mat looks like it has been wet from time to time. You must have a guilty concience or some other kind of personality disorder. Please do not bother me anymore."

If I run across many more dinks like that one and I'll be looking for a hobby like golf or tennis or some other foolish thing...
