WTB: W126 or W124 Diesel

This is my first post so let me start by saying hello and thanks for all the usefully online info! I currently own a 1984 300SD as my daily commuter, and iI am sad to say it has seen better days. I have been in plenty of MB diesels, and I must say although the body is terrible, this is absolutely the strongest 5cyl I have ever seen. Alas, I am now looking for something more comfortable and just plain nicer looking!

---

My three options are a 300 SDL, E300 or 300D 2.5 Turbo Diesel. Even another SD, but it must be nice.

Also in a running is a 300SD that needs a motor or trans! I have the ultimate donor car.

Wagon or Sedan, it makes not difference. If anyone has or knows of a decent W126 or W126 please let me know. I am located around the northern NJ area, but will travel for that special car. Thanks!

Price range is flexible, fair market value for a W124 or W126 would be fine unless the car has been in a time capsule.

Or how about a rust free, W126, 1985 380SE (good body, interior and transmission) body to drop that fine diesel engine into? If I do not sell it within a couple of weeks, I will probably trade it for a stationwagon someone wants to trade for it, or it (Mercedes) will go to the crusher. Still driven daily, but the engine is in need of maintainence work - injector seals, due for timing chain, etc- but I do not have the time or money to sink into it, as I have too many other projects going. I must leave that to someone else.

BTW - welcome to the boards. Good luck!

I have never heard of a 1985 300SDL. I did not think the SDL arrived until 1986 on a longer wheelbase. This is clearly not a SDL in the photo. Maybe just an honest mistake.
