Up for bids is my 300D trubo. Its gold with palmino MB-tex interior. Has about 225K logged if i remeber right, but since january the odometer has been really sluggish and stopping intermitantly. However since january, i have only driven, maybe a total of 1000K miles due to some alternator problems i encountered, which are now fixed. It has the standard features a 300D has, power sunroof power windows, power locks, what use to be a power antena.

Now i could totaly bull**** this and say "i bought this car with the intentions to covert it to run on WVO, but lack of time forces me to sell"

however i'm just gonna be blunt and down to the point. I bought the car in November for 2 reasons. 1. to keep the 240D euro out of the salt and snow and 2. i've always wanted a turbo diesel. However as u can guess winter is basically over, and rather it sit and do nothing but rack my insurance up, im going to sell it

for the good!!! It drives really nice down the road, before i bought it the PO bought new tires for it. Trans shifts smoothly however 2nd gear is a little short, probably a vacuum issue. Everything works on it except the power antenna. Nice power. the front dash has no cracks in it and its black. U heard me right. NOT 1 CRACK!

now for the bad, RUST!!! . The wheel arch on the left side is half gone, their is a hole in the passenger side door from the rust. I came to the conclusion that since it was a northern car all its life, that the rust is do to the salt pilling up on the road sides and then going on the car. THe drivers side isnt perfect either, rust on the well arch's, and the front trim piece has rust.... well instead of telling u about all the rust,assume that any "typical" rust that a W123 has, it has... yes including jack points. however, not sure about under carage The PO also was in a car accident, in which he did a crappy touch up to it, and by crapy i mean he painted it with some nasty spray paint, and stuck a turn light in. The front bumper looks a little at an angle, but im not certain of this. It has a pretty decent oil leak. However it only leakys oil on a certain angle... if that makes sense. AL most like it is collecting some where and then letting out. I'm thinking it has to do with the seals on the filter housing, however i havnt investigated. Next is that it either has a bad transmittion mount, or most likley a motor mount, which makes the car rattle at idle, but is very smooth when driving any speed. Rheostat needs replacement. THe door locks, are typical in that they have a leak some were. The front passenger window and the rear drivers window wont go down. related? i don't know.I think thats about all the bad that i can think of at the moment.

Since i have had it, i have done minimul work, since i never really planned on keepin it. I have givin it the basic diesel tune up valve adjust, banjo bolt cleaning, adjust the alda, new fuel filters and a new alternator. other than that, nothing else really bothered me to the point were i wanted to fix it. However the PO did not really take that good care of it at all. WHen i got it, it didnt have an air filter in it!!!

it had some kind of foam around it. fuel filters were never changed.. not recently id assume. and the good pad was held on by some odd string, which i later took the hood pad off anyways. He said he was apoor college stuident. he must have been cause when i took the air cleaner assembly off, one of the broken mounts was held together with the top to a champagne bottle

. of course i replaced the mount with a new one.

So i guess this would be best sooted as a DD for around town, kids car, or just a plain parts car. Im asking around 1300 OBO... yes i am also a poor college student

Would be a nice motor to put into a 240D? ( I have my eye on another 240D, that I might use for parts, or just might fix up also, I think my college son is going to run away with the one I just bought! :-( )

The car runs and drives fine as far as i can tell. I was actully thinking about putting the Engine into my 240D, but decided against it to keep my 240 as original as possible,. not to mention i have a euro set up in the 240D. Car starts up just fine. It has been sitting for a couple days and its been snowing and cold. went out their, and it started fine.

I have a 240D.
I was going to look for a turbo charged engine to transplant.
Just finished a 2,000 mile plus to Southern California, and have bonded once again with my "sporty 240". No, no changes in sight. I like the power of my 300 TD and the feel of my 300 SD, but my 240 will stay original for a long time.
