F/S: a W116 450sel w/6.9 interior
selling this car for a friend. I think its a '74(?) as you can see it has a hit in the rear but the driveline is good. there is a 6.9 interior in it that is in reasonably good condition. good glass all around. he would rather sell it whole if possible. he also has lots of W116 parts that i'll be listing later, like inst. clusters, bumpers, consoles, seats, doors, etc. i've included a photo withsome of the other stuff. PM if interested.
for the car he's asking $1500. car is in Oak Park, Mich. |

Yowch, nasty accident.
Not really interested in buying it, but to be honest, I think the price is way too high for a car with massive body damage. The frame is probably bent, considering the entire rear of the car is obliterated. It'd be a good parts car / fixer-upper at $300-800.. but at 1500? I paid 500 bucks more, and got a running Euro 300D with perfect exterior. Good luck to him, at any rate. I just highly doubt he's going to sell it for the price he's asking. May want to convince him to lower it by a good deal, and get some people interested!

i disagree. up til the time of the hit, this was a good car in working order. the car is not cannibalized. there's lots of good, valuable stuff for the person wanting motors, lighting, sheetmetal, glass, seating, switches, 6.9 leather interior, cluster, etc., etc., you'd spend lots of time & gas chasing down stuff like that. just look at all the WTB ads on here. not to mention that the drive train is in good working order- what's a good engine & trans worth? this is a great donor car! as for the bent frame, huh? its not a driver. i think for the 116 enthusiast its like having your own parts source!
