This is a very clean 1997 Mercedes E300 Diesel in Beautiful Black with a light ivory colored interior. This is a one owner car bought new in Columbus, Ohio, and driven by the Non Smoker Owner who traversed Ohio and surrounding states for his business. Car is equipped with High Performance, Highly economical, Long Lasting Diesel Engine. Car currently has 289,700 mostly highway miles but not to worry as this baby has been really taken care of. Oil and filter every 3-4,000 miles. The car is driven daily and will have a few more miles than stated. It does not use any oil between oil changes. Anything needing fixed or updated was timely done. Have stacks of service receipts with lots of records for new parts. Very clean engine, no oil leaks. New cold A/C system (compressor, condensor, dryer, etc, fresh R134A). All New glow plugs and fuel lines. Transmission shifts smooth as silk.. All major services performed. Just drive and save money on less expensive diesel fuel. Up to 38 MPG. Good Michelon MVX4 Tires with plenty of tread life left (65%). Bose sound system sounds superb. There are NO messy oil leaks, No Drips, NO Smoking engine. Engine and Transmission are in perfect condition. It has NO flood, water, frame damage. The spring perches were replaced as they were defective on models 1996-1999. This car looks like new and drives nice and tight like when it was new. Even the cruise control works. The car sports brand new headlight units as the original ones were pitted, yellowed and cloudy. The interior wood trim is very nice and the seats also like new as no one sat in them except for the driver's seat which does have a small wear spot where the driver's wallet rubbed the seatback. This particular engine and these cars are known for their longevity and this one is a perfect example. This car is just unbelievable. It starts just by barely hitting the key after the glow light goes out. There are a couple of small negatives. There are small rust spots on each door near the trim. Only one per door. On the trunk in the license plate corner has some bubbling. Mercedes put out a TSB on these items but won't fix it now cause its past their warranty period. The car had a small fender bender on the right front fender which was repaired and painted. It can only be seen when looking at it at an angle. Finally, something which is showing up in most of these old models is an error message indicating the "oil level is low" which it isn't. As far as I know one could change the oil level sending unit located on the side of the oil pan (about $58) or just ignore the error message. There are quite a "few posts" about this on the forum. And one very other small thing...the power mirror knob is missing and MB not have replacement. Still works just w/o knob. This is one fine nice looking and running car despite the miles. It amazes me each time I start and drive it. Car is located about an hour north of Columbus, Ohio. Price is a fair $8200 or close.
