hey guys,

a friend of mine has about $1000 and is looking for a decent w126 gasser..i was looking throu this forum and all i see are SD and diesels being sold like hotcakes! anyone have any gassers for around $1000?

They have depreciated in value a lot, and with the gas prices aren't "hot" like the diesels, but I don't think for $1,000 you would be able to get much.

If you did, it would be rusty, a refugee from a freeway pile-up, or need lots and lots of work -- ($3,000-$4,000) worth of work to "catch up".

Only way you could get a really nice one for that price would be if you got it in a special situation, ie, friend or relative selling it.

That's my opinion. But who knows--maybe you could get real lucky.

And just posted a 420sel on craigslist here in NY for 990$.

It's a well maintained car that a friend gave me when she just stopped driving it because the exhaust system needs to be replaced. It's currently un-inspectable and a bit loud because of it.

The car has a few dents, but it also has a nice interior, working sunroof, good radio and working antenna.

WOW, James Dude take that deal. I sure would, especially knowing it came from someone from the forum which tells you they know enough about the cars for it to matter to them. Just my oppinion James, but that's a worth while investment..
