Diesels do hold their value exceptionally well. I am sure I will regret this a few years down the road...but that is then...now is now!

I am accepting legitimate offers. PM me or email me at:

jdtv5@yahoo.com

For the right # I will terminate the eBay auction and we can get squared away.

Also- tomorrow I will be adding more photos to prove that this is rust free specimen.

I have no idea what to offer, honestly. What's the ballpark, or what is the ebay reserve, or what guidance can you provide?

Thanks, she looks sweet.

The auction is nearing its close. Just wanted to keep everyone updated I am still taking offers. An off-ebay sale would be ideal. But we'll see how it goes.

I just privately sold my 79 300SD; it had 90,000 orig miles and was also in "preserved" condition.
Not as clean as this one but still exceptional for it's age.

I wouldn't let this SD go for any less than 14,000. ( sorry this is not an offer...(: )

Driving a nice 116 Sd is like riding in a chariot. Add the ice cold R12 AC, and a good sound system and you do have the best ride on the road today. Still.

The fuel mileage is suprisingly high, and at least on mine the pick up and Turbo makes this the fastest older diesel I have been in. Especially for the size & wieght. And with the double set of heavy chrome bumpers there is more chrome on it then 10 parking lots full of today's little cloned boxes....

WHoever ends up with your SD is going to want to keep it for another 20+ years.

I really don't want to let it go...but I have put so much effort into the auction and answering questions and what not I feel obligated to.

Believe me I would gladly take 14K, but I would be satisfied with 12. My mindset is that my family paid around 40K for the car when new...and it really hasn't deteriorated much from that 40K car that it was when new. If you see what I am saying.

10,010 does not do it. That would have been a steal.

Hopefully you changed your mind and keep it in the family.

That car stickered for right around $30K new, even a little under that...nowhere near $40K. In fact, I looked up the original price of a 1980 300SD today and it was $30,600.
