Car looks beat-to-hell, no structural damage, yet a winner for any bottom-feeders, working on personal salvage yards. Give 'em a break.

I think that's uncalled for. A lot of people like fixing these up. Did you not see the job John Hef and company did on the wagon they got from me? Dee8go owns it now and it's a great car.

That would be a good car to get fix up and drive as a winter beater. Get Maaco to spray it for a few hundred, bondo the rust holes, fix the exhuast, throw on some new tires, and for $2k you have a decent driver.

John, I was going to come up on the 5th. I know it's a Saturday, are you going to be working? The plan was to pick it up, visit a friend, and then go see Kevin for a while before heading home. If you're going to be working, can Kevin meet me up there?
Thanks for the battery possible hookup. Exhaust is expensive for these.. Guess I have to step it up if I want a 126.

Don't worry, we will have it ready for you. I have a pm in to John. If I don't hear back, I'll give him a call.

Since getting it home, I've been steadily throwing time at it. If anyone wants to follow the progress, here's the link. Wait, let me get a good link first. So far I've fixed the blower motor, CCU, power mirror switch, may have fixed the driver seat tilt, and stripped the interior out for a cleaning/mold removal.

holy crap youve been busy! in the pic taken from the rf door (Rightsidefrontint.jpg), is that rust on the kickpanel by the pedals or is it just discolored?

looks like you're making good progress, keep it up!

No rust, just leftover glue. Went to PNP today, and what a score. Got a few door checks, cruise amp (I'll check it in a few days), and the total bonus::::: 88 300E headlights with wipers. I'm pretty sure the wipers can be adapted? At least I hope so, if not, guess I can sell them off. I also took the dash out of a W123, to see how easy it is. Not I'm seriously thinking of putting the black dash and console in the silver car. They had a 380SEL Euro there, and was going to grab the fender and door, but I had the Del Sol. Not much room for toting fenders and doors with that car. Besides, the fender did have a small amount of rust on it.

Is the seat material interchangeable between the 123 and 126?

Does anyone know what the headlight washer/wiper switch looks like? Do they come on with your normal wipers? I'm confused on this one. I snagged some switches, both on continuous (wiper) and on only while you press it (washer), so I may rig something up.

You're very industrious, Tony! I waashed my car today. That's about it . . . .

tony you should have grabbed the headlights from the 380SEL if they were euros! I dont think the 124 wipers will adapt well to whats on the car now... glass lights would make that thing look much better.

I would have, but they were already gone. The adjuster was still in the dash, but no lights. The plan is to get the euros for this one, so hopefully the wipers will work with those. I just took advantage of an opportunity to get them now. Got the washer bottle with both pumps too. Oh, and got two door checks, a window motor and regulator for the W123, and the left hush panel, albeit in a different color.

Color is not that far off to make much of a difference. There was also a fender and door, which I may go back and get. The door has manual windows, so I'd have to swap the motor and regulator to the new door, which I'm not in a hurry to do. I'm about to go spray the inside with the bleach solution, and then yank the engine out of the Neon. Fun times again, lol.
