More on the new SL addition in a bit. I just got back from looking at the SEC. Very solid car. As I said earlier, there is some rust bubbles in the rear quarter panels but not bad at all. Interior is blue and the leather could use some TLC but it's not ragged out. Small cracks in the normal places on the dashboard. Drives and handles very well. Heat and air works fine. Tires that are on it are old and he has a good set with wheels that go with the car. Overall, a very good car for the money. Bottom line price is $1700 which is a good deal for this car. He said he would take paypal for a deposit. My recommendation is if you're looking for a SEC, buy this one. With a little minor work, it will be a really nice car. I have his contact info. PM me if you want it. I don't know this guy beyond meeting him this evening and have no other interest in this car. I don't know anything more than what I've already posted. I hope someone gets this as it's a good deal.

Crap, I was hoping you'd say it was junk sort of.
No floppy timing chains, no flat cam lobes?

if the engine were toast, then perhaps he'd cut the price by a third. That wouldn't cover the cost in time and energy to replace the motor, even if you had a used one handy.
Buying cars without your wife knowing about it is pretty easy. That's why I have 34 cars. It helps to have a place far away to store them and it helps to buy them cheap. Or like the latest three cars they were "free". Just pay 500$ to move them. Anyway, like the man said. If you want an SEC, you want this one. -CTH |

I had called about that car too. Sounds like someone got a good deal. I am looking for a 1993-1995 E320 or E420 though.

I've committed to buy mtupower's 560SL. Gonna go down to FL in about three weeks and drive it back. He's a good member and I feel I got a good car. Yes, I did buy the 560 from Craigslist. It's a great car for the money. Pics soon.

I looked long and hard at the descripton of mtupower's car. It sure is a good price, and he's done a lot of work on it, too. What in heaven's name are you going to do with all these cars?

I believe he did sell that one. I think he's down to the two wagons and the SL.
