Any idea what it's worth?

I came across this 76 240D automatic in a boneyard recently. It's very clean inside, great seats, dash etc. Low miles but who knows how long since it ran. Everything is there but a battery. If you have an idea of what a 115 parts/project car is worth I'd love to hear it.

Thanks!

Try and save that interior if it's clean as it looks, is that dash even cracked? Lot of people would like to have that stuff. Try and buy the whole car for $500 or so. Go from there once it's home.

If you have room for it to sit for a while (assuming you aren't planning on restoring), I'm sure sooner or later you will find the right buyer who will pay some decent $$$ for it. You are right, the interior is not bad at all

Why is a car in the junkyard?

Cars are in the yards because they are beat up, wrecked, or do not run.
Since this car looks ok, and is not wrecked, that leaves reason # 3.

I'd assume engine/trans issues, and with that thought, even $500 sounds steep.

Figure scrap value plus the value of any good parts you might be able to recycle.

I'm thinking #3 too...

No cracks in the dash. I have a good friend with a '71 who could use the dash but no prospects for anything else.

JimFreeh makes a good point on the reason a non-wrecked car is in the boneyard; I figured the drivetrain, most likely something engine related, went down.

I thought a $300 offer might be a good place to start. I really have no place to "let it sit" in order to part it out personally. I just wanted to stir the water here and see if it might be something to consider or if anyone else is interested.

I've known guys that would go to GA and pull that interior, but don't know how to get hold of em anymore. There are some serious car nuts out there for those older models..

a couple more interior shots...

Since you said that about the interior I thought I would post a couple of other shots I took. The carpet is clean and in good shape just covered with a lot of paper/trash.

I just think the 114/115 body is a great classic and when I saw this one hidden away amongst the wrecked nasties I thought someone might benefit from it. I was taking pics of a trailer being stored at the same lot so the camera was close at hand.

I remember looking for one of those in the early 80's. The best price I could find one was 7500-10,000. I guess now it is affordable. This would be a good project for someone who would be willing to fix it up. If the motor is good, it would be a bonus. Anyway, keep us posted as to what you do. Bill
