FS--1996 E 320 in Western NC

I am selling my 1996 E320 after owning it for a little over 2yrs. I would actually still be driving this car, except I ran across an S430 and literally could not pass it up! I know there are a lot of these models out there (my neighbors even have 2), but this one really is in excellent shape.

The details.....
It has 133K miles, major servicing has already been completed (such as the dreaded service at 110K or so, by a shop about an hour south of here), I replaced the MAF & 1 (LR) window regulator---other than that, oil changes and gas have been all I needed to worry about. I changed he oil every 4K using Mobil 1 Synthetic and a Mann filter (not to worry, I do know what I'm doing). The previous owner was a woman that had another truck and when she got married, they had 5 cars between the 2 of them, so they sold the oldest---her loss, was my gain. The paint is in GREAT shape, interior is also spectacular---just check the pics. Quite honestly, if I hadn't run across the S-class when I did, I'd still be driving this E....and without any hesitation.

The specs.....
This is an inline 6, I've never had any problem with it whatsoever (unless you count being annoyed the oil filter on this one is in the rear of the engine vs the front on the V6 models). Navy Blue (MB calls it Azure, and I'm fairly certain it was only available for a year or 2) with gray interior and the burled walnut. All standard features, plus the CD changer in the trunk....the only things I don't have are heated seats and the rear window screen. I have NOT added any mods (so the light, fenders, stereo, etc are all stock), however, what came new, looks new---I've even found a way to clean the headlights so that they look crystal clear with NO hazing! I detailed it every 4-5 months using mostly Zymol products (the occasional Mother's product for chrome, etc) and it has NEVER seen a car wash with those spinning things as long as I've owned it!

The pros.....
The car is still in GREAT shape and I'm sure has many more years left in it.....it'd make an excellent car for just about anyone--from a road-warrior to a run-around-town car to a college student. I've seen this car side-by-side next to other E's....even later models.....and this one really does look better---inside and out. Mechanically, it's still in great shape....I would feel good about buying this car for myself or anyone I was looking for....in fact, even offered it to dear ol' Mom, but it's 'a bit too much car' for her (since she's only 5ft and likes smaller things).

The cons.....
There are only 2 things that are going to need attention---the plugs and the brake pads. The pads light JUST came on last week (naturally, now that I'm ready to sell) and the plugs will need to be changed/upgraded. The reason I haven't already taken care of this is two-fold: first, if I were driving this car continuously I know I'd want the very best, others may be happy with any brand out there; and if I put something on it to sell it, it won't be the highest quality, but enough to remove the CEL with the pads. Secondly, I know some guys like to mod the cars a bit and this could be "wasted" repairs, so I figure this even gives you room to negotiate on the price if you want. Let's face it....a set of plugs (even the best by Bosch and a set of pads aren't going to cost you and arm and leg). Of note--in the interest of full disclosure....if a Car Fax report said it's been wrecked, that's wrong---my neighbor backed out of her drive, hit my RR bumper and cracked it, gave me her insurance, and I got a new bumper out of the deal! It has NOT been wrecked, I have the Car Fax from when I bought the car!

The offer.....
I'm asking $10,900 for the car....a bit more than KBB or NADA list I know, but considering this car really does look great, I think it's worth a few more hundred bucks. Incidentally, this is close to what my neighbor paid for hers ('97 E320) and it literally had scratches on the trunk, dings in the front, and an interior in poor repair. Like I said, if you're interested & serious, let me know, I actually enjoy negotiating....

The contact info....
I live in western NC, Asheville to be precise. If you'd like to come test drive the car, you are certainly welcome....however, I can't take the car all over to meet people to drive it. As for getting the car to you---as soon as I have cash/guaranteed funds, I'll sign the title over to you....now, shipping is your responsibility....I've never sold a car online, and honestly, eBay can be a stretch at times....so we'll have to talk if you're out of the area. The best way to contact me is via email: browne-co@charter.net I'll reply as quick as I can, but it's usually in the evening due to work. Since I can't post pics on here, I can email you the promotion sheets I have for the car---with LOTS of pics and complete info....just send me your email.

Thanks!
Mike
