85 200t(e?) euro stick wagon in NC

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/car/552172542.html

No affiliation, etc, etc.
Euro bumpers, stick, 4cyl gas, euro tails I think? Kinda neat.
Somebody buy it.

I forwarded that to a friend who's been looking for a 280TE; thanks for the heads up.

That's correct. I had the exact same car except mine wasn't a wagon. Good vehicle. Cruises quite a bit faster than a 240D

A four cylinder gas engine doesn't seem like it would be enough to pull that car.

It is more than sufficient. It has more power than a 240D. Remember. Most of the rest of the world found four cylinder Mercedes perfectly acceptable. It's only the USA that requires larger engines for some reason.

I drove a 230E sedan, W123, and the 4 banger had plenty of power to move the car. I would say more so than an NA OM617 {just from feel}.

Indeed. The 200 is noticably less zippy than the 230E but certainly adequate unless you are a boy racer type.

Heard its sold, anyone here buy it?
Would be a good car for a 2.4 diesel swap. That would be cool 2.4, 4-speed, bare bones wagon.

I'd leave it alone since gas wagons are soooo rare in this country

True. Someone got a good price. $1,800 for a california wagon with 134,000. Just needs doors.

The one that had been on Ebay was $4,500 which is a little high for me. It did look clean and so did this white one.
Would like to drive that wagon with a 2.0 and 4 speed, that would be a fun experience.
