Letting go of Frau Frankenbenz

Due to personal circumstances, I am not able to spend the time or
money to continue to maintain Frau Frankenbenz, or to produce
biodiesel. I would like to sell her. She has been my daily driver
for the last three years. She is a 1983 240D with a 1984 300SD
engine transplanted in her, located in St. Louis, MO.

The good
strong 5 cyl turbodiesel w/ ~320,000mi (approx)
manual 4 sp transmission
2.88 differential
Good body with very little rust
New clutch, master cyl, slave cyl as of 2006
New oil cooler lines as of 2005
New hoses as of 2005
New custom A/C hoses as of 2005
New oil pan and gasket as of 2005
New shocks all around as of 2005
New front wheel bearings as of 2006
New Water Pump and thermostat as of 2007
New Belts as of 2007

The bad:
it desperately needs front end work. new tie rod ends, ball joints,
center drag link. Maybe more. I got a quote from European
Performance for ~$875 including an alignment. They were the cheapest
bid, and I trust their mechanical work. As of right now it vibrates
uncomfortably above ~ 45 mph, and most likely won't pass inspection
with the front suspension parts the way they are.

when we installed the newer manual transmission, I put the linkages
on backwards. this translates to a "backwards H" shifting pattern.
Goofy, but you get used to it.

The accelerator pedal is touchy, most likely from the custom throttle
linkage we installed to hybridize the 300SD to the 240D

Speedo doesn't work

Rear Driver side window is disconnected and blocked up

Front passenger window has worked intermittently, favoring not
working.

Cruise, and AC does not work. AC belt was not replaced when water
pump was installed.

There is a short in the horn/backup light/buzzer circuit. Can't honk
the horn w/o blowing a fuse. This will be the other thing that needs
to be fixed to pass inspection.

The front driver seat has a big rip in it, the interior overall needs
serious cleaning.

I would like to get as close to $1000 for it as possible, but my
price is negotiable.

Thanks.
