1984 300SD 218K - in Kansas, $1000
1984 Mercedes 300SD, 218k miles, gold with brown leather interior. located in Overland Park, KS
-No sound system -Not original steering wheel (will buy a cheap one to put in there) -Not original shifter -Front Tires shot -Comes with European Depo Headlights and clear corners, along with clear tailights Details about the Car: well this was my college car, I've been working for a while now and don't get to drive it much (twice in 3 month). I am probably spending more money keeping it than its worth to me so i am gonna see if i can pass it along. I have done a lot of stupid things to it as i was in college at the time, like put a $300 steering wheel, and an expensive sound system. so the car is not in its original condition. The car runs and drives well. it starts up fine even after sitting for 5 month, after i charged the battery it fires right up, transmission shift smooth. i think it has good compression. recently (within the past 2 years) i have changed the starter, all GP, not sure if i changed the GP relay or just changed the fuse. the interior is fine, leather is worn at the butt but i just put a cover on it. power seats still work and power sunroof works too. I rigged the blower motor to a switch so heater works too. AC of course does not. all instrument panels work and i remember it was getting around 28-30 mpg. it has a security system along with remote doors. it no longer has the middle 2 mufflers. now the problem: rust!, I have had a lot of problems with rust. a lot of stuff probably can be fixed with some patch panels and welding. there is also some on the wheel well and along the bottom edge of the car. I bought this car from Chicago. suspension - front has been giving me problems since i bought it. The good news is i have, throughout the life replaced most of it. both upper ball joints, both lower ball joints, both guide rods, idler arm, shocks (KYB's), steering damper. all these items are in good working order (not loose) however i never really ever got a alignment. it also shakes at 65 mph, so i always drive 60. i don't know if the tires are balanced or if there is something else wrong with it, i have been chasing all of the suspension components i thought were bad. the current tires have positive camber wear and they are shot. I have since did a quick camber adjustment in the garage and i believe to cure the camber, wheels now look straight and it rides and turns better than before where there was an clear positive camber. but still needs a real alignment paint is good. some clear coat peeling on top of car, but overall a shiney look. there are some defects all around, a key mark on the passanger side. I am being sent to TX in 2 weeks for business and will come back every 2 weeks or so on the weekend. right now its taking up garage space and i am hoping to sell it before i leave. I am asking for $1,000. with a possible trade for a big screen TV http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/silversilvia/Car/ any questions shoot me a PM.
