Nice 1987 300D in Maryland - $2500

1987 300D Turbo with 249,000 miles in Maryland

Starts right up and runs strong, shifts fine. Been driving it 30 miles to work and back no problems. Nice interior, seats look good, no cracks in the dash. Minor rust in the jack holes. Car has been resprayed at some point. Looks pretty good, but it ain’t a show stopper.

A/C blows cold, sunroof, antenna and all but the one rear window work. New battery. Looks like a pretty new exhaust system.

This car just passed Maryland’s state inspection, which is very strict, checking the suspension, brake rotor thickness, you name it! As a result, I had to replace most of the brake lines.

1/08 New battery
5/07 Rotors, pads (front and back), motor mounts and serpentine belt,
1/07 Injection pump resealed, lines replaced,
5/01 A/C system rebuilt, new starter.

Now the bad –

From the inspection, it needs two rear tires. Further, currently it starts fine in neutral, but will not start in park. I don’t feel like going under there and replacing the neutral safety switch. I figure most on this site will know what that involves and someone might be willing to pay less for a good car and take it on themselves. If not, I’ll do it and put the car on Craigs List.

$2,500, seems like a good price to me (strong engine, nice interior, solid body). I know I’ll get the usual responses that someone can buy these cars all day long for $99.95, but my price is currently firm. Car is located in Dickerson MD (20842) and you can drive it home. I have too many cars, something has to go. Serious inquires only, thanks

And while I have your attention – Thanks for all the great help you guys provide on this site, I have really benefitted from it.

Aw, c'mon, George, I can buy those all day long for $99.95 . . . .

Seriously, it's a nice-looking car. I thought yours were all greasers, but you didn't mention that, so I guess this one is not?

I do have two greasers, but I decided I really don't think I'll get around to converting this one, hence the sale. I think you two need new ones though.

No more room in my driveway. Of course, I would be forced to clean out my stinkin' garage if a wad of money and a nice SEC became available . . . .

What state did the car come from when you bought it?

I got it from Northern Virginia (your neck of the woods), but before that it was Pennsylvania. As I mentioned, there is rust starting to show around the jack holes and a bit elsewhere, but no rust thru. I come over to Northern VA for work on Mondays and Thursdays if you want to have a look.
