I have two diesel vehicles and given the difference in insurance costs my euro car has to go. Current specs known defects and new parts are below.

1986 Mercedes-Benz 300D
Normally Aspirated 603 motor with 221,000 and counting miles
Auto Transmission
Power front and manual rear windows.

New parts/Newly rebuilt
Rear brakes rebuilt
New tires
Glow plugs all gone through
Afterglow mod done
Mono wiper rebuilt
Wood is in great shape
Other than a few cracks in the dash the interior is almost spotless.

Bad/still needs work
Rear defrost only works in spots
Rear shocks (SLS) have a VERY slow leak and the boots are bad
Heat is weak but works to defrost the windows
Window washers don't work (needs new stalk)
Dent in drivers fender
Minimal rust over rear wheels and jack points
Smokes a little on start up, does have some blow by
ABS light is on (needs OVR I believe)
A/C doesn't work.
Front window is cracked
Map pocket is coming off the drivers door panel.

I am asking $3500 for the car it is really clean inside and the outside just needs a good waxing to get rid of the haze. The car is perfectly drivable the way it is and I have put quite a few miles on it recently with no problems other than what has already been fixed.

How much of the asking price can we forget? Any pics? Can the SLS suspension be easily swapped out to a standard NA setup? Too bad she's not a 5 speed, eh?

The rear mounts for the SLS look just like a standard stud type shock absorber. I do believe you have to change the springs to a higher rate when you do this to avoid droopy @$$ syndrom. The leak from the cylinders is very minor and I have only added fluid once in 6K miles (just gotta make sure you get the right stuff). The car is on detroit craigslist there are 4 pics up there.
