Looking to pick up a Diesel Coupe before summer. You guys seem to have the most knowledgeable and far-reaching Benz networks out there.

What I'm looking for: A solid Coupe driver under 300k miles unless it's a pretty obvious special case. As far as the powertrain, I'd like to have a solid engine and a smooth, slip-free transmission. The interior should be in "Good" condition, but a few minor issues of seat, trim or dash are definitely okay. I'm not very picky on paint, as long as it's just not trashed, however a good body is a must. I don't mind surface rust or oxidized upper surfaces, but I'd like to avoid deep panel rust and soft spots in the splash areas or floorboards. A few minor dents are no big deal. I don't mind a few window regulator, A/C switches, sunroof motor, dryrot in window seals, chrome washout, etc issues. Just please be very forthcoming, and I think you'll find an understanding buyer.

What I am NOT looking for: A functional parts car, OR your "Daddy's Little Girl." No one would love to own your Crown Jewel of 72k original mikes more than myself, but with the budget I must stay in I couldn't take her from you with good conscience. I have a dog that likes to ride, so if she can sneak into the car through any "undesigned entries" I'm afraid I must pass for saftey reasons

I just put a deposit down for an 83 Coupe on fleabay. Talked to him for about 2 hours over separate occasions. Everything I asked for pictures of I got in hi resolution.

The only think it needs is a headliner and some a/c work. Made him a cash offer and he bit.

not bad... has a triangle and is missing some center caps. Same colour as Jacks, however it has what appears to be loop carpet interior and possibly sheepskin seat covers.

where are you located?

It actually has 3 sets of caps: silver on black, silver painted and chrome. He just put 2 diff sets on for comparison.

The front seats need new inserts, but I think I'll save that for autumn, the sheeps will be nice when that July sun is beating down. I'm working the gears on replacing the headliner now. Still has original toolkit and First Aid in the original bag.

Also needs a front set of seatbelts, but that's the story. Just minor tidy ups...

Well except for the inserts, but I'll delay that, (or ask for leather interior for Graduation ) Like I said, I dig the sheeps.

I don't think it has loop pile carpets, but now you've got me hoping hehe.
