I have too many cars and too many kids, so my insurance is killing me. I must sell my 1983 300D which I have owned since 2001. I have treated this car like my baby.

Through this forum, I have read, learned, and posted since 2001. You can do a search to see my posts for information.

This car is a 1983 300D. It is black with palomino MB tex and a sunroof and auto transmission, of course. I have had all engine maintenance done by a certified MB mechanic in Macon, Georgia. Other minor work, I have done myself through the help of the forum members.

The car has 247,900 miles on the odometer, but you must add 15,000 because Mercedes replaced the odometer in 1984 after a failure. (The replacement is certified.) The car had 170,000 miles when I bought it.

I have had the front end and the air conditioner rebuilt. (AC is still R12). In addition, the timing chain was replaced in 2002. Also, the previous owner purchased a re-built transmission from Mercedes and replaced the original in 2000.

I have driven this car all over the southeast and would drive it to California right now without hesitation.

I would like $2,500 for the car. It is located in McDonough, Georgia.

I would be interested to know which Macon mechanic did the work you mentioned. I bought my last three diesel MB's in Macon.

The name now is Silverstar Service. Richard Bridgeman is the owner. The former name was Deaton European automotive. He had worked on the car before I bought it and knew its history so I continued to use him.
