OG 74 240D 4spd in GA. 2K on ebay...

I've taken the advice of board members.
I've compared my car to other cars.
I've relisted it for 2K.

Thanks for looking,

Jason

I think you'll do very well at that starting bid.

BUMP for one cool car!

If I had a garage to keep her in, she'd be mine, but no way could I park that car outside.

What is the horse power and what mpg would you expect from this car?

Thanks,

David

240D is 63 HP
You can expect mid-high 20s MPG most likely, with the stick (depending on driving of course.)

edit: those figures are for a W123 but its much the same.

OP, nice car.

It's a good deal at $2K-$3K. That bushing kit for the A/C is close to $200 alone believe it or not (I just installed the same thing on my '74). It's a little bit of a PITA and will take about 3-4 hours to do but is a straightforward repair, as are most on the W115 chassis. If nobody else steps up soon I might be tempted myself...there are fewer and fewer rust free examples left. Even my recent acquisition is not as pristine as I thought when I first saw it.

A guy asked today if I would consider selling it cheaper than 2K if no one bids on ebay...I said that if no one bids, I will put the Benz out back and watch it rust.

goes off in less than 2 days.

ebay is a funny thing. Relist it in a month and it may sell for $5K. Hits and viewers mean nothing in my book, really. LOL at the rust in the back yard.

Best of luck and may you have many many snippers.

Another victim of $5 diesel fuel, I'm afraid. If I didn't already have the same year and model in my stable right now I'd have bid on it. Someone got a great deal.

Yes it was a victim of $5 fuel. 2-3 years ago when diesel was $1 below regular it would have sold for twice what I got easy.

What's even more odd is that people are still paying a premium for VW diesels. I would have loved to have kept this old Benz but...atleast it will go to someone who will care for it more.

The guy is coming from NJ to pick it up!
