FS: 1973 w114 280 w/euro m110 engine
Selling my '73 280 with a euro m110 from an '81 280se installed. I bought the car with its original engine blown due to a thrown rod and installed the new one. Car runs strong and is in good original condition. Odometer shows 79,000 but it was stopped until I fixed it. Other things recently done are:
- new front subframe mounts - new engine mounts - weber 38 DGAS carb - electric fuel pump and pressure regulator - recent (not quite new) tires with essentially no tread wear - recent muffler Interior is immaculate other than some cracking in the center console next to the radio slot, and the fact that there's no radio installed right now (though I have the original Becker Europa... previous owner had replaced it with a CD deck, which he kept when I bought the car). Paint is very good with a few spots where it's beginning to bubble (along the beltline trim on the front right fender). No rust through, nothing but surface rust underneath. The only things that don't work are the non-existent radio (though the PO had some nice speakers installed that are still there) and the AC. The AC compressor won't kick on, though I can make it engage by jumping power directly to it. I'm guessing it's low on freon, but I'm not sure. Asking $4000 or best offer, I'll probably put it on ebay soon, but thought I'd see if anyone here wants it first. Car is located in Brooklyn, NY. I have more pics, or can take more, if anyone wants. thanks, Dave

anyone want this thing?
I had no idea trying to sell a car on ebay would be such a miserable experience (fake bidders, rapidly multiplying fees, etc). Anyone here want it? I'll take $2000 firm... if there's no interest here I'll just ship it where I'm moving and deal with it later. It really is in nice shape.

here's a link to the closed ebay auction in which the buyer turned out to be a fake. Just posting it here because there are additional pictures and description:

Thats a really nice car, where are you moving to? Did you install the engine yourself? How much effort was it?
I wish I could but I can't. 15 cars already and having a nightmare trying to sell 4.

Hi, I'm moving to Portland, OR. I did to the engine myself, and it was pretty straightforward. Just swapped most of the anciallary parts off of the blown engine onto the new one and dropped it in. Wired up an electric fuel pump and was good to go. I actually sold the car earlier this week to a guy here in brooklyn... didn't get much for it, but I guess there's not a very high demand for w114 sedans, even ones in extremely nice shape.
