I'm sure it's a nice car but you'd better put your flame suit on.

I'm not the most computer literate guy around, so pictures are a challenge. Please bear with me.
Hopefully you all know what an original 560SL looks like. Imagine it in nearly new condition. All paint, leather, wood, chrome, alluminum and rubber are fresh and like new (time warp new). Matt, if you're near Alpharetta or Buckhead, come see it. Email me, and we'll set up a time and place.

Marc, I'll give you a couple of useless pieces of advice:
1. The phrase "must sell" and "buying a Carrera" do not belong in the same for-sale ad. Try "must sell" with "lost my job" and a correspondigly aggressive price, or "this car is perfect in every way and for discriminating collectors only" with "buying a Carrera" and a crazily high price, like, um, $35K. 2. If you truly must sell, you should list the car with a must sell price. That price is about $10K below your listed price. 3. If you want to get top dollar for your car (and to be honest I think in today's market you are asking beyond even top dollar), you need a LOT more information in the ad. Service history, owner history, many many detailed photos or links to photos on a hosting site like photobucket, etc. will help you immensely. If you want $35K, don't make prospective buyers work to buy your car. Make your ad work to sell the car to prospective buyers. Good luck, it sounds nice. Oh, almost forgot, I will start this topic.....will you allow a PPI? Bruce |

This car is nearly perfect, and I'm picky. It is definately a collector's car and not a daily driver, unless you don't care about depreciation. As far as my asking price goes, I believe that The $35K was followed by "Or Best Offer". This, I hope, would make it clear that I'm somewhat flexible. Not, however, to the $25K that you implied. I'll try to get some pictures to attach to this thread. Can't make any guarantees... Thanks for your advice.

Yikes.
In perspective, my brother just bought a 1989SL, black on black(much more desireable color combo), 22K miles. Mint in every way you could imagine with extras like a set of original BBS Wheels from that SL era, euro bumpers and lenses not yet installed, etc. Just shy above $20K. He's got it covered for collection. It was a local Atlanta car as well, never left GA and is a one owner. Mid 20s is more sellable. Just my 0.02. |
