1984 300TD 193K Needs work, $1000

Confessions of a Mercedes addict. I'm picking up another wagon tomorrow and so I think I'll sell this one which is at my parents house in NH. I've only driven this car about 10 miles to get it to my parents house. It starts and runs good, shifts are OK. The thing that was rather weird was the back end felt like it was all over the place which I think was due to two things. 1) the rear axle CV joints have issues and 2)the rear SLS is dry and I'm not sure where the leak is at this point. This car spent much time in Florida so its cleaner than a normal New England Car but as you can see from the pictures it will need body work. I believe the left rear jack point was used after it rusted and thats what pulled it away from the body. The lower inside of the doors are decent, it has a new left front fender, and the front bumper is "portable". The cross bars on the roof racks are gone. You will need a MIG to save this one, or you can lots of good parts from this one to save another wagon.
Lowered price (8/01/08) to move it quick to $750. Its in Merrimack NH. 5 pages of photos here: http://asnowsquall.smugmug.com/gallery/4647637_pEzpN#P-1-12

Here is the ugly picture:

I'd take it if it had the cross bars.

And you would get it to Texas how

I let the other wagon go, not sure if it sold or not. No rush to sell this one. Who knows, if it doesn't sell, maybe I'll patch it up and drive it this winter.

Lots of pieces parts both interior- and exterior- and wheel-wise that I could use but nowhere to put it in the meantime (both in regards to marital bliss and zoning regs).

Best of luck with the sale! But if you resort to taking off parts let me know.

Yes, I already have one parts car in the backyard. I need to relocate and get a bigger piece of property with a nice barn/garage. I'd love to specialize in MB wagons, or just W123 cars.

Are you still tinkering around with VO and diesel busses?

Very little with that right now. I'm cramming as much time in with the family at the end of "summer" here while trying to do new windows and vinyl siding. Big project. Back to VO and flipping one more bus in the fall.

The beach is a blast with the twin 3 year old boys. No mommy around yesterday, and very few people so we were bad and had a sand fight. Maybe it was the "wrong" thing to do but it sure was a blast.

That's cool! I know my boys, girl and I get away with a little more when mom's not around. Stuff I yell at them for when the Mrs. is there is open game when she's not. Sounds like you've got your hands full. I really want to do some bio brewing but just don't have the time for collecting or processing right now.

I still pop in the GC forum everynow and then. The more things change, the more they stay the same. It's entertaining if nothing else.

Sorry, I didn't mean to jack your thread, it's just that the little lightbulb went off then. At least it's a BTTT?!

Ebay special?

Here it is for $650 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220282513965

For you guys in here I've got a drivers rear quarter panel and a 2.88 rear diff with axles available for the right price to help this wagon.

Aw c/mon, Swamp. You've got that nice new parking lot at work. Surely there's a little spot out there somewhere you could put this wagon . . .

HHmmmm

OK, so I had a hard time listing the car as Ebay didn't like the VIN number so I listed it as a 1980. The ad ran almost 4 days and they pulled it. The sent me a note and offered a service through http://www.autocheck.com which I tried and it came back as a valid VIN. The only thing I may have done wrong is punched it in as a 1985 instead of the 84 which it is, I'm currently driving a 85. I try relisting tonight as a 1984 with the correct vin WDBAB93A1EF008876.
