I am selling my 1980 Mercedes 300D. It has 119k on it and is in really good shape, this is a non turbo. I got this car from an old lady in Conway,

Arkansas, and the only real reason i am selling it is that:

1. We have 3 cars and i cant keep them all.
2. I love my 240D and cant part with it.
3. I work to freakin much and can't drive it enough.

I am an Oilfield Engineer and travel a lot. I have been home about 6 weekends since October and that does not allow me to play with my cars.

Anyway, I will try to list every single thing that i know about the car, good and bad. I bought this car with the intent of making it near mint, as

it is not far away from it, but i just dont have the time. i have a very good idea of all the items that need fixing to get it to mint status. Here

it goes.

Good:
Paint is original and amazing.
Engine has 119k on it (have some papers) and has no blow-bye
Steering is crisp and Front end is practically new (no worn bushings)
Interior is really good shape, carpets, seats, switches and knobs
Body has no rust, except 2 of the doors have some on the inside portion (from rain in the doors)
Engine does not leak any oil, no drips
Euro Triangle
Original Phone
Switched to Mobile 1 5w-40 full synthetic motor oil
New Michelin tires with only 15k on it (13k from my other 300D)
Does not smoke, starts up after one crank

Bad:
Dash has cracks
Has one paint chip on the Driver door from Walmart parking lot ($^#$%@)
Has very small dent on Rear Driver fender
Only 1 speaker works
Trans shifts hard, due to vacuum leak
One of the door vacuum pods is leaking, but not sure which one
Rear Driver window switch does not work, already replaced the broken Window Regulator
Front Passenger Door striker needs to be readjusted, (sometimes does not close completely)
Antenna does not go up
Fuel Sender Unit is confused (needs new one)
A/C is still R12 but the Compressor clutch is out
Cruise Control just stopped working on my last trip

Things i have done since i have had the car:
Valve adjustment
Fuel system cleaned (Diesel Purge)
New Motor mounts
New water pump
Added Mercedes Hub Caps
Added Zebrano Wood Gear Shifter
Added euro headlights
Added euro warning triangle
Added Passenger side mirror (was an option at that time, but i still have the chrome plate if you want to remove it again)

So, this is a very good description of my car. i hope i have not scared anyone off, but anyone who advertised their 28 year old Benz saying

everything works if full of it. there are always some small things that need to be tweaked, and well i dont have the time to fix all of them. At

least there wont be any surprises when you come to look at the car.
