I do not see anything wrong,there may be a little dirt.There is nothing to hide with this car,I will tell you what it is.One thing that I will tell you,I put whatever money into this car that it needed.No matter what.I want a car that I could drive without having a problem at all.That is why I made sure everything was perfect mechanically and the car does not even have a minor squeek mechanically.I have three mechanics,one of which I travel over 1 hour and 30 minutes to have the car serviced,and he said everything was in great condition.I use this car to travel from Pennsylvania to Connecticut weekly and have made sure that everything is mechanically perfect.I even held a Mercedes get together at my property in Connecticut in June.I have put over 18000 miles on this car within the past 8 months and have maintained it perfectly.The original spare tire on this car is still brand new.Anything that this car needed,I had it done,not matter what it was.I have the reciepts of all the work that I have done to this car and have done anything that was needed.I added brand new original Hella Headlight lenses,all new glow plugs,tuneup,all fuel lines,all filters,transmission service and an allignment and tire rotation within the past two days.I have driven this car in 10 degree weather while it was in Connecticut and started it after sitting for a day or two in 10 degree weather without a single problem.Once again,I have driven over 18000 miles in the past 8 months and have maintained this car 100% perfectly.It does not need one thing mechanically.

I've never been under the hood of a W210 before, but that sure doesn't look like dirt. Either the picture is deceptive or your mechanics overlooked something. A nice car, nonetheless.

I will take another look under the hood tomorrow or sometime,take more pictures.I will tell you whatever the car is.I know that I have had my 1997 E300 and my 1999 E300 parked next to each other and everything looked basically the same.Mechanically,I guarantee the car is 100%.If you have seen any of my other cars,you would know that I maintain my cars 100% properly.I detail and shampoo all my cars by myself and even the fact that I have taken the shift knob out of my ML500 to put it into this car.I added original Mercedes front and back mudflaps that I bought brand new years ago and still have the plastic for them,I added original Mercedes all season floor mats and original Hella headlight lenses,which I still have the boxes for.

Don't feel bad snp, just a little scary to see what looks like rust on a car with known spring perch issues. No reflection on your care, just a flaw of the model........ {I think this is what Tyler is getting at}

I know this car very well,I do not feel bad because I know I am describing this car honestly.The spring perches were regularly checked and are extremely solid.I have three different mechanics all inspect the spring perches,all saying it is extremely solid.

I have seen these cars called "E300TD" many, many times. I know that the wagon was never imported to the USA with a diesel engine, but I don't know about the rest of the world.

Does your title say "E300TD" on it? I would not be surprised if it did.

yeah, SNP, just pointing some things out.... us guys from the rust belt are a bit concious about ferrous oxide... ... although if that is what it is I think its in a critical load bearing location

Many titles are labeled incorrectly, probably because some secretary long ago started to designate them incorrectly. Or worse yet, a pencil pusher.
We call them what the engineers put on the back.
Always defer to the trunk/hatch designation.
And don't throw the blank Euro wild card at me. They just call us to get the correct answer......

To set everything straight,this car has always been serviced by Mercedes or Mercedes mechanic and been maintained by the highest standards and if there were any critical defects on the car,I would know about it.Dont judge the car without seeing it.I am not the slightest bit desperate to sell the car and have no problem keeping it.Also,about the TD and TURBODIESEL,I know that the correct name for this car is E300 TURBODIESEL.I only put E300TD because some people refer to it as an E300TD and some refer to at as a E300 TURBODIESEL.I have heard both by people,so to be fair,I included both,thats the only reason I put it.
