http://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c383/picasso928/1972%20Mercedes%20350SL/ 1972 Mercedes 350SL............211xxx Miles..............Vin 10704412002183 For your consideration, a very nice 72 MB 350SL roadster in Grey/Beige with Tobacco Brown top and wheel caps. This car is a true classic having 211,XXXk miles. Only 2000 350SL’s came to the USA in 1972. The car is trimmed as a 350 but having the larger 450 power plant. This is not a transplant but a numbers matching all original car. I have the data card and an open , clear Massachusetts title in hand. Original manual, flashlight, Mercedes fuses, and a pair of top openers with the case. Car comes with original jack and tools. A translated copy of the data card is below: Engine: 117982-12-002215 Transmission: 002323 726- Upper Paintwork, Grey Beige 423- Lower Paintwork, Tobacco Brown 401- Single Seats 416- Hardtop Mounted 467- Central Locking System and Instruments with English Lettering 491- U.S. Version 513- Becker Radio 524- Paint coat Preservation 580- Air Conditioner / Tempmatic 595- Heat Insulating Glass 669- 10 Liters of Fuel and Mode of Packing VE IV 246- Heat-Insulating Glass / Rear Window Pane 746- Folding Top Fabric, Dark Brown This car has some needs, primarily being paint/clear coat work and and overhaul to the braking system. It stops but not well. The lines have been replace but I believe the master is bad and it would be wise to replace the front calipers. The calipers are readily available here on eBay as are the master cylinders. It has been garage kept for the past 2+ years and driven 2 miles while in my possesion. Tires are in need of replacing as well. They have quite a bit of tread left , and hold air but have dried up over the years and are subsequently cracking. Car runs like a top and the motor and trans have been completely rebuilt. I can put you in touch with the prior owner for confirmation and details. There are less than 300 miles on the rebuild. The heater blower motor is not functioning nor are the wipers. I have replacement motors for both. The floors were replaced at one time. The inside right trunk floor needs some attention. The soft top is nice but one side window is cracked and taped. It is brown. New and installed on the car are the following: Fuel Pump and Filter, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, 8MM Plug Wires, Distributor Cap and Rotor, Exhaust from Catalytic Converter back, Heater Valve for Heater Core. And Ignition Resistors. I am sure there is more but I cannot remember it all. Many extras are included with the car. The list is as follows.......I am sure this is missing some as well: Various Sensors for the motor, charcoal canister, alternator, smog pump, convertible top and frame, intake manifold and lines from a 76, upper and lower radiator hoses, vacuum solenoids, chrome door sashes, complete chrome windsield trim rear calipers and rotors, New rocker panel chrome trim 1 damaged, A- pillar trim and rubber seals, rubber fender (NEW)and door trim, trunk matting, 3 sets rear chrome trunk trim all candidates for a re-chroming, water pump, coolant housing, thermostat housing, cooling fan, fan clutch, heater blower motor, relays and modules, headlight switch, wiper switch, Climate control switch and trim panel, speaker covers, speedometer cable, jack and tools, fuel pressure regulator, New amber fog lights, a New extra clear lense, rear wiring harness...complete, Complete extra convertible top frame and top, New OEM Hood Pad, New accessory belt, New extra spark plugs, New OEM rubber bumper trim for Euro style bumpers. Please see pictures for complete inventory. These are used parts unless specified and came from a 76 450SL I had that was rear ended. I have many pictures of the car and am completely willing to take any you may specifically ask for. Vehicle is a driver with a little brake work for inspection, Becker Europa radio works well, all lights and signals work, transmission shifts well and the car accelerates and drives well. Cream color two-tone interior is nice and the seats are very comfortable and firm. I believe this was the only year for the two-tone interior. The tobacco brown top is in nice condition. The paint on the car is an issue. The sides are nice but the hood’s clear coat has peeled and the paint has faded. This is a good candidate for a re-spray. The car is Very attractive with this color combination. I have yet to see another like it. Car is sold as is with absolutely no warrantee expressed or implied. It is 35 years old but runs and looks like a nice light restoration job will do the trick. In 40k miles, it will be awarded the ¼ million mile badge for continue service from Mercedes Benz. Nada Classic Car value is $9500 in the Low category needing only cosmetic work. My price is much less. Keep in mind the fact that there are a slew of extra parts that come with the car. Ask questions if you have them. I welcome personal inspection with notice and is recommended for local interested parties. The car is registered and I have a clean title in hand. All sales are final. Thanks for your interest. Also included, New in the box steering dampener, and tie rods and a Cd-Rom shop manual covering the entire 107 series. This is an incredible opportunity, so don't miss out. I would like to make clear the fact that this car comes with it original Hardtop in factory Chocolate Brown, has its Softtop and is perfectly servicable having only some tape on the right quarterlet window and an Extra convertible top and Frame are included. The frame alone costs more from Mercedes than the current bid. Also there is an extra alternator, powersteering pump, AC compressor, Air Cleaner, rubber trunk mat, passenger door handle linkage complete with handles, NEW battery, washer pump, loads of screws bolts and nuts in labled bags, This is a rare opportunity so please do not miss it. Original Becker Europa Radio intact and functioning !!!!!! Last edited by petes_benz; 09-17-2008 at 11:45 AM. Reason: adding price |
