I'm sorry, but the funny part I see in this is none of you "Mercedes Guru's" question how the heck did we get the tires to smoke like that? Have you ever seen a 123 chassis actually spin the tires? That is what made it so funny in our opinion. My last 300D I sold with 600,000 miles on it and I needed to make an appointment to merge into traffic. The gasser is about the same in acceleration without the torque. If we took a SL55 and did it, it wouldn't be funny...the result would be expected.
I posted up a few burnout videos of my non-German show car and no one seemed to care.
Maybe I shouldn't tell you guys that I actually tow my cars and my horses around with my ML430. It's still holding up with over 180,000 on the odometer.

I thought you were going to sell since were in the cars for sale section. If you're keeping it, do burnouts, set fire to it, or dare i say it, run green coolant in it! Its your car so you can do whatever you want.

and I got my 300CD to burnout as well, and thats with 275's in back... used to have video of it somewhere, now forever lost out there somewhere on the net.

I don't care if you do burnouts, do whatever you want with your car. Just don't say it's been taken care of and show a video of you abusing it. Doesn't speak much on your credibility.

That being said, it's pretty impressive that a near million mile 4-cyl motor can do that.

Especially since the transmissions in these things are so rock solid anyway! That was pretty cool. Did you change the final drive to a higher ratio and just hold the brakes? My CE did that, I never went that far with it though...
The sad part is, show people a picture of dying folks in strange countries or starving people under a bridge and it's 'get a job' or 'so, not my problem'. Do a burnout and your Stalin.

I love that video!

you guys are looking at this the WRONG way! After 980k the "holy" benz as you all seem to think they are is still capable of laying down enough power too be abused and keeps on going... WOW what a statement to the engineering that went into the car.

To each their own.

as to the OP, keep on rocking!

Perhaps a little wax and some good salesmenship could help you fetch a good price on eBay. That color of Blue is known to come back from horrible oxidation.

I wouldn't be suprised if someone was willing to pay up to 4-5k just for the honor of turning it over.

I wouldn't suggest posting the video, though. Yikes.

This thread seems like one big trolling expedition.

Let's see the odometer showing a million miles backed up by paperwork.

Trolling??? Yeah, that's it. Two months ago I start to think about what to do with a MB that has close to the million mile mark. The underside has some rot and it needs some work to get to be roadworthy. So, this last week when the shop got a little slow (or we got the work done early-the numbers were still there) I decide to get it running and see how it drives. Then one of my employees asks if the car has any balls left in it and I give it a little gas and it spins the tires...probably because they are dryrotted from sitting. Hence the joke starts. We thought it was pretty funny that Mercedes can build a car to last millions of miles with proper maintenance and still take a beating. I don't think Ford could pull that off.
Anyway, It's not like we are beating the **** out of it on a daily basis. We don't treat any of our customer's cars that way....including all the M5 or turbo cars that come in. My regular customers understand my sense of humor and obviously you don't. You may want to see your doctor about getting that stick removed from your ass.
I have the documentation for the mileage...but after all this I really don't think I'll be selling the car because god forbid the car did a burnout. Wow....I'm just impressed that the car could still spin the tires at all.
