Yep, would like to know color of interior and exterior, and pics would help you a ton. Mileage on the car is useful info too.
Thanks!

Yes please all of the above and does the car have ASR? Does it come with a complete history including but not limited to receipts? Where did the car come from? (What state) How long have you had it? What month/year was the car built? (it's on the sticker on the door jamb of the driver's door). I'm not saying that all these answers need to be what I want to hear---- But I do need to know these things in order to be able to determine the car's value to me. I do love these cars--- I only have one so far---I would love another 93---it's my favorite year!. Regards, Eric AKA 400Eric

Since a bunch are inquiring, to make it easier - here are the photos the seller sent to me: 400E kodak gallery

Quoted from seller: "VIN # WDBEA34E5PB884380; Last code check indicated firing problem on several cylinders. It starts & idles OK, but loses power under load. I will let it go cheap. I just want to get it out of the yard. You must arrange your own shipping. Mileage 201,641"

BTW, Carfax looks clean too & consistent with the mileage... just went from UT to TX to KY. No abnormal reports.

I like the fact that it doesn't have ASR---fewer reliability issues but the high miles scare me. Please come right out and say how much you want for the car. I'm still interested if it's a really good price. (I have to factor in my distance as well) I don't want to "bid", I don't do E-bay. Why don't you put those wheels in the trunk?
Thanks for your help Benzbar.
Regards, Eric

I will let this car go for $1,000. I just don't want it to sit here and rot. It is a nice ride. I gave a girl in the Army who was transferred to Germany $2,500 for it. She had the wiring harness and fuel pump replaced shortly before selling it to me. Since then, I replaced the throttle body actuator, front pump in the transmission and the driver's side rear subframe (my daughter took it over a curb sideways). It came with two sets of rims, 15" and 16". I put 4 16" Z-rated tires on it at first. One of the 16" rims was broken on said curb. When she broke the rim, I put two 15" rims on the front with two more new, but cheaper, tires to get her around until I could find something else for her to drive, which i have done. If anyone is interested in this car, let me know. I thought somebody here might be interested in saving this car's life. If not, I will end up parting it out or scrapping it.

That's my main motivation as well---saving the car. Thanks for the post. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I can't do anything for about 5 weeks. Somebody here will grab it. Please don't do anything rash. If you still have the car in 5 weeks CALL ME (951) 264-7937. Please also post the build date (It's on the D.S. door post) I don't mean to be a pain, I'd just really like to know the build date. There may be others who would like to know it as well (for example:the "open deck" block came out in about 4/93) Thanks again. Regards, Eric

If it were closer....

I would buy it, but I would have to drive it back to California, something that I would be worried about with the problem of the power loss.

Thanks for the post. 11/92 is a good vintage. A great aroma with a sweet aftertaste LOL. All kidding aside, that is a good date. I don't like open deck blocks myself. Some people think they help cooling but I disagree. Anyway you can tell how serious I am by the fact that I posted my cell phone number here for all to see. I mean it. If you haven't sold the car in 5 weeks, call me! To further help the cause, does the car come with a history/receipts? Has it ever had a timing chain and guide job done? (This would help remove doubts that may be in some minds.) It looked like there may be a package of receipts in the back seat. Thanks again! you are doing the right thing trying to get this into an enthusiast's hands. Regards, Eric

It didn't come with many receipts and I do my own oil changes, troubleshooting, etc. I did have the Mercedes dealer in Bowling Green, Ky figure out the original problem with the car. They installed the throttle body actuator (OUCH!), over $2000 for the part and $300 or so for labor. I replaced the cam position sensor (cracked) and fuel pressure regulator (leaking). Until this recent development, the car ran great. It has the best accereration of any car I've owned since I restored a '66 Mustang several years back. The bands and plates in the tranny looked new when the front pump was put in. The bushing went out of the pump and wore the splines and knocked the seal out of the front. As far as driving the car anywhere, right now I would figure on trailering as the best option.

How many miles were on the car when you bought it? Am I to understand that you have no knowledge of the timing chain and guide history? In other words, you don't know if they have been replaced or not? (Again, just trying to answer the questions that I know are on peoples minds even if they are to shy to voice them.) Thanks. Regards, Eric

180,000 miles when I bought it. I didn't get much recorded history with the car. Everything I mentioned happened since I bought, except for the harness and fuel pump, which I learned from her. I could possibly get you her email address, if she has any of the info you are looking for. As I mentioned, she is now stationed in Germany.
