72 Mercedes Benz 280CE 4 speed stick, 1 lady owner (who happened to be a Nun)

So i'm thinking of selling my 72 280CE. It's a euro 4 speed with a stick and the 185 hp DJET EFI engine.

Currently not running. Underside is pretty solid as it's an AR car although there is some rust around the rear quarters.

I have other cars that I need to store in it's place.

Offers please

I think the value depends greatly on what is wrong with the engine...

Yeah, I don't think the engine, but the FI system. I can get it running with carb cleaner, but the injectors are not injecting . There is a big thread on the vintage forum that discusses it.

I didn't know they ever put a D-jet M110 into a W114 chassis. Very cool.

Yep, but not in the US, I still have my 250CE in the UK which was a very quick car. I would have loved to see what the 280CE would do with a manual gearbox. My other 280CE is currently in Washington state until I clear more room.

I have heard that the 4 speeds are a real fireball. This thing is certainly a lot lighter on it's feet then my non running 6.3 which is a huge pain in the rear to push around

That car would easily be the fastest stock strichacht around.

Even though I don't have the space and the funds....I am still pondering the possibilites for that vast open space on the exhaust manifold side of the engine compartment....

Yes, there is plenty of room for a turbo charger

You should have come down to Racine and drove my 73 280CE before i sold it. it was a rocket ship. It had plenty of rust though, probably what made Al buy it.

Yep, but it's a runner so it's a keeper. I'd rather sacrifice a rust free 280C for parts then cut up the euro 280CE that i have listed here.
