1969 Mercedes 280SE two-door coupe (W111), dark green, black leather, 2.8L I6, $13.5K
1969 Mercedes 280SE two-door coupe (W111.024), dark green repaint with black leather interior, 2.8L I6. Two sets of wheels and tires; stock wheels, excellent/good Michelin tires with original hubcaps (and a set of aftermarket chrome hubcaps), set of 16” chrome wheels and older tires. All of the car’s chrome is in good shape (bumpers, grill, fender lips, door jams). Leather on the back seat is very good, front drivers seat has one-inch spot where the leather is worn through and the passenger seat has two worn spots and two seams separating, sheepskin covers. Headliner is excellent. Lifetime California car with original black license plates. No rust other than surface rust on the interior floor pan.
Four-speed automatic transmission, rebuilt by Mercedes dealership. Original car with 159,000 miles. Wood should be refinished. New Sachs shocks, Bosh mechanical fuel injection, four-wheel disk brakes, new tire rod ends, wheel bearings, radiator and hoses (all OEM Mercedes parts). Relatively new exhaust system. York air conditioning, power windows and antenna, PS, PB. Paint is 20/20 (i.e., at 20 miles per hour and 20 feet it looks fantastic); however, it is an older lacquer repaint of the original green and has checking. I have owned this car for over 21 years.
This is the last model of the hand-built Mercedes, the quality of parts is amazing. $13,500. Original manuals and documentation come with the car, including original window sticker.
