Very cool. Didn't know you had that in the stable. It has CA plates?

May I ask what the annual average cost of repairs were? I am curious.

yes it is from the west coast ( or was ) and , well ,I am the "curator" so to speak, elderly couple whom I have known for years let me take care of her. That means she stays at my house and I get to drive it and make sure its OK. The upkeep varies and I think most of it is realted to not being driven as much as it should, dry cracked lines and the such. These old ones , much like the Benz are meant to be repaired and driven forever. I find the parts are similar in cost to MB's.
She is a grand machine. The latest overhaul , engine top end to valve gaskets and adjusting and tinkering was about $1300.00 - parts and labor. I have convinced them to sell it , I really think it best, could make quite a show car, she actually bought it from the movie star/tv guy, so she is second owner.

You'd pay more for the same work on an M116/7 or even an M103

probably true, this car is easy to get around and work on, massive openings, unlike my 107 where I have to twist into a pretzel to work on it.
For instance the heater core on this car is under the passengers fender well , in its own little insulated box, lines to it have cut off valves, easy to replace and work on.

It is a beautiful car. The repairs were less than what I expected they would be.

Didn't Roger Moore get driven around in one by Patrick McNee in View to A Kill?

perhaps, oh BTW this comes complete with belt buckle, paperweight, as well as chauffer cap and sterling tea tray!!!

Man, that is a beautiful car! It's too bad the British don't have the engineering acumen to match their aesthetics. I could afford to BUY a (used) Rolls, but I could not afford to OWN one.

it really is, I can only imagine what it was like when it rolled off the showroom, it is a grand ride, after all these years the engine just sounds like a sewing machine and the ride is pillow soft, tranny is bulky , but that is it.
