1964 220se coupe
I'm jumping the gun a little bit, but I figured I'd go ahead and post this and see what kind of a response I get.
I'm picking up a 64 220se coupe and a 67 250s sedan this weekend down where I grew up in Northwest Florida. I live in Atlanta now. The sedan is going to find it's resting place in the local pull-a-part, due to the amount of rust on it My buddy has a 72 280se 3.5 sedan (and I've read all the posts about if this car is a 4.5 or really a 3.5!) and he has claimed whatever is salvageable off of it. Grill, taillights, etc. I'm buying the coupe because I need some parts for my 64 220, but I don't have room to keep another car. I'd have to register it and insure it and leave it on the street. Don't want to do that. So here's what I'm going to pull before I pass it on to the next guy. 1) Swap out sunroofs. Mine is dinged up. It flew off the car when I was towing it home a few years ago! 2) Pull dash wood and instrument cluster 3) Pull taillights 4) Pull rear passenger's side window handle So, it'll be 99% complete still. I know it was driven to where it is sitting, under a carport. But I still see it as a parts car, because I can't claim to know much about the integrity of the engine and transmission. I am going to try to get it running, so I can know more about it. Yes, there is some rust. Beneath the rear bumper, trunk lid, bottoms of front fenders. If the rust is what I remember it being, I'm thinking about asking up to $1,500, but if it is worse, down to around $1000. To pay for the cars, rent the trailer, pay for gas, buy my help breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and beers once we get back home(!)...that's where I am coming from on the price. So if you are interested, let me know and I'll send some pictures this weekend. Like I said, I'd like to get rid of the car ASAP. And I'd rather not have to go the ebay route. I really appreciate this message board and want to find a buyer here. Todd |
