80 & 82 240D's for sale plus manual trans, factory manuals & extra parts.

Hi, I have decided to get rid of both of my Mercedes 240D's.
The first one is a 1980, beige exterior and Palomino interior, upholstery/carpet are good. This car runs and drives, I had been driving it up until earlier this year, it has clean title and current registration until the end of June. It has an auto trans, & has been converted to a non turbo 5 cylinder 300D (617) engine, it does not smoke and starts easily even after sitting a month or two.
The second car is a 1982, it is a golden brown color exterior with Sienna interior , upholstery/carpet are good, with full woodgrain console faces. This car has the original numbers matching engine and transmission, the trans does not go into gear, I have the engine and trans out of the car. The engine does run. It has a very solid rust free body. This car was originally sold with the Euro delivery package (the buyer would be flown to Germany to tour the factory and pick up the car for a vacation in the new car and then both would be brought back to the states), I have all of the manuals, delivery tags, warranty book, & most of the dealer service records for this car as well as a full factory first aid box kit. It has the optional right side door mirror, toolkit, and cruise control. It has a clean title and is on a non-op.
I also have extra parts that go with these cars, a complete 4 speed manual transmission conversion setup (I was going to install into the 82), a set of brand new weatherseals and door glass felts for one car, including front and rear windows (paid over $600 for those) a set of factory manuals (have all body and engine manuals, missing the transmission and electrical book), 2 sets of new Mahle fuel filters, a new Mahle oil filter, a perfect front bumper with mounts, headlight bezel, some drivelines and other misc parts. I want to sell this all as a whole package. If you are familiar with these cars and know how hard it is to find a manual trans and manuals, then you know this is a very good deal, these cars can both be good average drivers or use both to make one really nice car. I can help with hauling the 82 (or both) locally if needed. I have a lot of pictures.
I am in Shingletown, Ca. (near Redding). Asking $2000 for everything, or I will separate the cars.

I've been buddies with Chris for a while now, and he is completely trust worthy! Count on him!
Also, that is the manual tranny from Scar. It would be nice to know where the various parts of him are living in the future. China has his engine......

**edit**
BTW, love the pink S-10.....

Sounds like a deal, although I'm not quite ready to buy, and not looking for two cars at once . . . but the price!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. ( Jimmy and Shawn). I've been on the forum for a good while and learned a lot from everyone here in past years. Coming to this decision was a hard choice, but I need to make some cuts in my current place in life, part of it means giving up my 240's. I still have those fond dreams of having an SL someday, but realistically that's a far cry off right now.
Jimmy is right, guys, if you want to know anything about these cars or want to see more of them, just ask. I have nothing to hide and have no intentions of messing with anyone, we all know what these cars are and their quirks. I quit driving the 80 because I was able to fix another car that was more suitable to my current needs, it still runs and drives right now, and I have been religiously running it and driving it around the property every month or so, so as to keep it from going bad from sitting. I got the 82 because it was a very nice car that you can tell was well cared for in it's past, and was going to fix the bad trans with that manual I got from Scar & finish it with the new weatherseals and such to a like new car. I really liked it's colors & it is in well kept shape, and I was going to restore it completely, with the 5 cyl from the 80 and the manual trans just to make it a nicer ride. Part of me really does want to keep these and make it happen, but reality has other plans, and they have to go, along with some other vehicles. We all know this is a very reasonable asking, I would like to see them go to a good person that sees what they are and can be. I'm trying to sell everything together so someone could have 2 good running cars from it all, either to keep, or to sell one off to make some back from what they spent or make one really nice car and have spare parts ,etc. I -may- be wiling to separate it up, but would rather not. . So, if we separate these, the 80 goes as a running car with good mechanicals and interior, the 82 would go as a fixer with a good body, with it's runnning engine, and the manual trans kit. The rest of the loose parts would go separately. My point is. I don't want to deal with splitting this all up and trying to Epay the pieces, It's hard enough to give these cars up, and this can be a very good deal for someone, I just want to get it done and put it to the past. As fellow afficionados I'm sure you all understand where I'm coming from here, sometimes we all have to make difficult choices in life.

Wow...no interest yet? C'mon guys, there's gotta be SOMEbody out there that wants these....

It seems a lot of folks aren't wanting two cars at once, so, I'll separate the cars. The 80 will be sold as it is, the 82 will go with it's original engine and trans, plus the manual trans kit. The manuals & weatherseals will be sold separately, and we can work out what to do with the loose parts.

Chris,

The 80 sounds very intresting to me . . . actually both do, but , I'm 800+ mi away, not worth hauling a non runner . . . I need to get rid of my truck 1st, but I'm still interested . . . surprised nobody else in the area has grabbed it up!

Did you do the 300 swap? how many mi on engine?

How many mi on car?

Hows the rust issue?

But I bet it's only about 800 miles in a straight line
