Well, I lowered it just for the heck of it. I had it at $5000 originally. Doesn't change what I will accept for the car. It just has further to go to get there. Some people just like the thrill of bidding when they know what they bid will not reach any reserve.

Deezl, I did 95% of the maintenance myself on the car. Over time I would do more and more myself. Just takes a good manual and some patience. I could take the engine out but would not do any overhauling myself. In Monroe, LA there is Eyre Motor Service. They are very knowledgable and do excellent engine and head work. I do not know of any good independent MB shops I would trust. The dealership in Alexandria has one excellent mechanic that I request whenever I need something done that I cannot do. Nick Cole. I tried the Shreveport dealer but had poor results there.

South,

Thank you for the info.

I agree with you 100% with Nick C. I wish he was an indy, he's a good guy. He knows the older cars well. At one time, he was the only one working on anything pre 90 or so.

Your car is sharp. Good luck with the sale.

Anyway that you could benefit from the gov'ts "clunker/gas guzzler tax rebate?" The $4500. tax credit, may be the way to go on this one?

Just an idea...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought as the seller on e-bay, that you could delete any bidder you chose to?

OldSouth,
Have you tried craigslist yet? It's free, and I'll bet you could move it quickly listing it in Shreveport's craigslist? I dunno, might be worth a try.

A year ago I sold a vintage Honda motorcycle on DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth) craigslist, and I had tons of action before a guy came forward with the $3,000.00 cash. It works, especially with the great pics. you've got. Being in Columbia, LA. (I know where it's at) I'd select all the large cities in LA., Little Rock, and Jackson, MS. -and I'll betcha it'll be gone quickly. Just my experience with craigslist as a seller.
