1980 300D Tubo Diesel Manual Transmission(Nevada, MO)
This is Mercedes 1980 300D with a 3.0 torbo diesel from a 1982 Mercedes Benz 300SD and a 4 speed manual transmission from a 1980 Mercedes Benz 240D.
I put a intercooler and a free flow air filter on to boost performance. It's got LOTS of "diesel" power and torque. It starts, runs, and shifts great. The car has around 185,000 miles on it, the tranny around 98,000 and the engine has about 200 miles since I put new rings and bearings in. It had around 200,000 miles before that. I put a low milage rear end (45,000 miles) on. It also has a second fuel tank so the car holds a total of 35 gallons. If you're looking for a Mercedes manual 4 speed transmission on a Mercedes Benz 3.0 five cylinder turbo diesel, here it is. Things wrong with it: All the AC stuff had to come out for the turbo diesel to fit. Only the driver's door window works. The others all worked at one time, the wiring is loose. The sun roof does work, and not leak. It'll need new tires. The ones on it stay aired up, so it's driveable. It leaks oil around the valve cover gasket, some thing to do with the blow by, very easy fix . It does have a small amount of rust under the back fenders. It took a long time to find all the suff to put the engine and tranny together, the flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, shifter, flywhell bolts, drive shaft machined , the shift linkage made( 'cause the old ones where to short), etc... I'd like to get $900 from it. (Really, alot more) I can send more/better pictures via email. If this doesn't sell by May 22nd, it won't be selling. The car in 15 miles from Nevada, Missouri. Call (417) 321-1800 or or email Marlin1895@gmail.com . Thanks, Joe |
