1987 560 sec for sale: Price drop

1987 560 SEC for sale in seattle area. I have done a lot of work to this car. It runs very good. This is a great car that I have kept up mechanically. 174,000 on the odometer.

-transmission rebuilt @ 162,000 by local mercedes only shop
-engine top end rebuilt @ 166,000 miles by a local mercedes only shop
-completely rebuilt sunroof, new lepoardskin print fabric headliner
-Removed back window rust proof minor spot and reinstal rear window with new rubber gasket
-new AC compressor , converted to R134
-new trunk 6 CD player
-new brake pads all around last month.
-I have recipts for all the engine work, the new compressor, and all new belts, but I repaired the sunroof, rear window seal, stereo, climate controler, klima relay, rebuilt the powersteering pump, high pressure pump hose, and brakes myself. All of which work perfectly.

Things this car needs:
-a new hood pad
-has a crack in the windshield about 10 inches long
-has a few chips in the headlights that I sealed up

I am asking $7,000. for my car. It is a medium metalic tan with palamino interior. I am flexible on the price due to the windshield, hood pad, and headlight glass all needing to be improved. I can't see the logic in putting a new windshield or headlights in this car since every car I own seems to get a stone hit off the hiway once a year. I would rather leave that up to the new owner and compensate the cost in the price instead.

bump. Price lowered to $4500. This is a great price for this car. It gets no use, so it's waste of money for me to insure and register it.

price drop to $4000. I just pulled and cleaned the injectors and reinstalled them with new injector seals. I also replaced the fuel distributor. The car is idling perfectly now. The car is on seattle craigslist too if anyone local wants to see it and test drive it.

the motivation?

Can I ask... why the "lepoardskin print fabric headliner"?? It must certainly make the palomino skittish

Bump. I am still selling my car. It still runs great, but is neglected. I never drive it. I am asking $3,000. for it. One tire seems to be losing air regularly now and the tachometer is now pinned at full rpms when I put the key in the ignition, so something is wrong with that...

New tachometer fixed multiple things... The car needed a working tach for the AC to work, but not for the engine to run well... That seems odd to me, but it's all fixed.

Good car looking for someone who wants a SEC at a bargin price.

The headliner looks much better in person. The pictures make it look inconsistantly colored, but it's not at all that way. It was just the way the flash of the camera made it look. I had a mercedes collector who was interested in the car look at it the other day. I purposely asked him if he thought the headliner was horrible... He said,... "Actually, It looks really nice"

The car is a steal for $3,000.
