91 MERCEDES 350SDL TURBO - $1500 (FARGO)
No affiliation-
Nice looking 350SDL with a blown head. If I had the room I might think about making an offer and towing it home and look for a good 616 engine. I have up for sale a beautiful white 350 sdl turbo diesel with a bad head gasket it is in very nice shape this car was almost $60,000 new in 1991 it does run but the head gasket is blown this is a very nice car has been serviced at the dealer since it was new give me a call 701-730-1315 thanks http://fargo.craigslist.org/cto/1280389843.html

I was planning to drop a 150k 603 from an 87 300D into my SDL and it would have cost less than 2 grand. The engine is available if anyone is interested.

I will be hauling that car home on Monday. I bought it with the intention of exactly the type of repowering that TylerH860 was talking about. I will pull the head and see what's right with it. If all it needs is a gasket and head straightening, then I will take a run at that. If it's more, I may be looking for a 603.
The car lost a fan belt and was overheated. It starts on the first hit, runs fine, all accessories work. It just blows water out the cap like a whale spout.

If you wind up shopping for a good 603, the one I had lined up was excellent. 150k on the car, quiet/smooth idle, and could really scoot. The car is still drivable, though it had been sitting since 2001.
