Wow, the market must be pretty soft right now if a rust-free coupe won't sell for more. Good luck with the sale, I would be interested myself, but the timing is not good.

Although it says "rust free" in his sig, I think he means "relatively rust free, for a 24 year old car located in Ohio". I looked at the large size closeups of the rusty spots.

That being said, it looks like the car attracted significant interest and might have brought more than the $1,625 bid if it was a "No Reserve" auction.

lots of rust and dings, especially the entire right side.

the clear coat is dead.

the dash is shot.

Here in the midwest we consider that condition to be "mint."

I guess I'm going to find out just what it's worth... since this time there is no reserve. The drive train has been super well maintained and is in great shape so I feel like it's worth a good bit more than the last go around.

Anybody that's in the Columbus, Ohio area is welcome to come by and take it for a spin.

hey, good luck. seriously.

but, since i don't have a dog in this fight, i can be totally objective.

(and yes, rust is kind of a curious anomaly here in so cal. and for what it's worth, prices are extremely depressed here, and maybe all over? )

It does seem that the market is a bit bearish for diesels like that right now.last year i sold a rusty 123 turbo diesel with barley cool A/C for almost 3 grand.it had about 100k less on the odometer though.same color combo too.
I imagine the price of fuel and the collapse of credit helped fuel(ha!) the demand for these and other diesel cars.Suddenly the rusty old diesel from even the big 3 were getting a lot more interest and then the fuel prices came down......wich is good if you are looking to buy.because we all now that nothing changes and we should never read about history to find out about repeating events either............all is well
