Trade Feeler W124 for W108 - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

This is a feeler to see what interest I get. I am toying with the idea of trading my 87 300D for a w108. Prefer a V8 and REALLY would love an SEL.

Since getting my wagon I am really liking the style and feel of a more vintage Mercedes. The 87 300D is a very nice car, fast as poop. I like it very much... but I am really digging these older cars. The 300D has about 150K miles and YES a #14 head. Doesn't overheat, runs like rust, fast as poop(did I mention that?).

Any interest? IF so I will move forward with pic's and what not.

At one point I thought if I sold the car I could get 4000-4500... but all the 87 300D's I see on ebay do not seem to sell at all. Guess those days are over.

I know what I have in it and I am not sure I could get that out of it.

Seldom can, it's a car.

All about condition, history, miles, options/colors, and location. Pretty much in that order.

Tell me/us more, I'm not too far away.

Condition- good, no rust
History- none, I bought it from a guy who bought it from a charity auction..he didn't have time to fix it up.
Miles-150k
Options/Colors- black/gray mbtex interior. One small(quarter size) hole in passenger seat right bolster. Drivers seat is the passenger seat from a parts car I had access to. Perfect seat that is nice and firm. Sunroof does not work but I dont like the sun so I never tried to fix it. Motor runs just doesn't open. All other standard options, everything works, ecept A/C I was going to get it pressure tested and fill it up with R12.. I never got around to it.

I am not really looking to sell it out right. I have the 190d 5spd parts car for it. Still have not pulled the transmission out yet.

I will get some nice pics of it. I need my brother to clean it up first.. my wax job faded away a little. I have a pic of it after I clayed and waxed it but it has been photoshopped to show what the car would look like if it were lowered... so I dont feel right sharing it. I am still unsure about the wheels. I have the factory wheels for it but currently it has the nice CLK wheels and nice new tires... not too sure I could let those go.
