I received a call from a local MB dealer pertaining to a 98 E300td. This is a one owner with 43k miles and in immaculate condition. Asking price is $18,985. The last diesel that I owned was an 82 300CD Turbo. The 98 is a 6cylinder and should be considerably quieter??? KBB suggests a price of $14,115 if in Excellent condition. Are there any 98 E300td owners out there and what is your evaluation/review of this car?

That's getting into W211 money. Even if its low mileage, its going to have age related issues just like the rest of them.

I'd tell them that unless they want to get back on this planet with price, no way in heck.
